The Cyberabad traffic police on Thursday (August 28, 2025) issued an advisory urging companies to consider staggered logins and logouts to ease congestion and ensure uninterrupted emergency services in view of continuing rains. Officials also urged commuters to plan their travel carefully, citing the risk of low visibility, slippery stretches and slow-moving traffic through the day.

The advisory followed overnight and early morning showers in parts of Hyderabad, which caused waterlogging and traffic snarls in a few areas.

Trouble spots included Shaikpet flyover from Tolichowki and the stretch near the Kia showroom, where water had accumulated up to 1 feet and a few vehicles were stuck.

Motorists have been asked to avoid such stretches if possible, drive cautiously and follow traffic instructions.

Cyberabad traffic police teams remain on the ground to monitor the situation. “So far, traffic is not heavy as many employees appear to have chosen to work from home,” an official from the traffic control room said. Parts of the commissionerate experienced light to moderate rains in the early morning hours, the official said.

At the same time, the Hyderabad traffic control room maintained that conditions were largely manageable. “It was mostly drizzling overnight and not heavy rains. As of the 7 am report, no waterlogging points were found and traffic was moving smoothly,” an official said.

Meanwhile, breakdown of a RTC bus caused briefly traffic snarls at pillar number 745 near KPHB Metro towards JNTU.
