BC Association for 42% local body reservations

Posted on January 13, 2025 By admin

National BC Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah on Sunday demanded that the State government implement the Kamareddy BC Declaration that it had promised in the run-up to the State Assembly elections in December 2023.

The Declaration promises, among various measures for the development of the umbrella community, an “increase in BC reservations in local bodies to 42% from the present 23% within six months of assuming power”.

According to Mr. Krishnaiah, who was participating in a meeting at Vidyanagar BC Bhavan, said the association will resort to protests if the government does not fulfil the promise. He alleged that the delay in implementing many of the promises under the Declaration had exposed the Congress government’s attitude to BC’s development. Fast-unto-death protests will be taken up if the government disregards the demands, he warned.

Youth Association State president Anji, working president Neela Venkatesh, senior leaders Alampalli Ramakoti, Mallesh Yadav, Narsingoju Srinivas, Gunti Swaroopa Shyam, Chigulla Srinivas and Lingampalli Srinivas were present.
