Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority issues LoA for agri processing facility

Posted on January 2, 2025 By admin

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) said it has issued Letter of Award (LoA) to Trident Agrocom Exports Private Ltd and Man Infraconstruction Ltd consortium for the development of an export-import cum domestic agriculture commodity-based processing and storage facility on its land.

The project, estimated at ₹284 crore, will be constructed on a 27-acre land parcel within the port complex.

Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Chairman, JNPA, said, “This project will enhance India’s agricultural logistics capabilities and support the growth of both domestic and international agro trade.”

“With the new facility, JNPA is playing a critical role in strengthening India’s agricultural export infrastructure. In the new year, our focus will be on accelerating growth and development, ensuring fast-paced work for timely completion of key projects,” he said.

Once operational, the facility is expected to handle about 1.2 million tonnes of cargo annually, significantly contributing to the country’s agro trade by improving the processing, storage, and transportation infrastructure for agricultural commodities, JNPA stated.
