Chennai Super Kings took a lap of honour at MA Chidambaram Stadium after the conclusion of their IPL 2024 match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. It was emotional moment for the fans as CSK played their last league match of the season at the venue. The side has one more game remaining in the league stage but it will be an away match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. On Sunday, the fans turned up in huge number as MS Dhoni and his teammates were distributing signed balls to the crowd with the help of tennis racquets.

During the hearwarming moment, Suresh Raina, a former CSK player and good friend of Dhoni, joined the team during the lap of honour. And what Dhoni did was simply a sweet and kind gesture.

Dhoni handed the tennis racquet to Raina and asked him to do the service of sending the signed balls into the crowd. Notably, Raina is one of the commentators during IPL 2024 and was present at the venue for the same task.

Talking about the game, CSK registered a five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in a low-scoring thriller to boost their IPL 2024 playoff hopes.

The win took CSK to 14 points from 13 matches. With a net run rate of +0.528, the side holds the third spot in the points table.

Chasing a modest 142 against RR, CSK reached home in 18.2 overs with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad dropping the anchor to make a well-compiled unbeaten 42.

Earlier in the first innings, Simarjeet Singh helped Chennai Super Kings restrict Rajasthan Royals to a moderate 141 for five in 20 overs. The seamer returned figures of 3 for 26 in quota of his four overs.

Riyan Parag was the top scorer for RR with 47 not out off 35 balls.
