Pakistan Cricket Team Takes Part In Military Drills At Army Camp – Watch

Posted on April 2, 2024 By admin

The Pakistan cricket team, under the leadership with newly-appointed white ball skipper Babar Azam, took part in military drills during their two-week training program at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Kakul. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to hold a training season with the Pakistan army and the players were seen going through rigorous workouts in a video posted by the cricket governing body on social media. The cricket scene has been going through some turmoil in Pakistan at the moment with Babar reclaiming his captaincy from Shaheen Afridi.

The players taking part in practice session at the army camp in Kakul are –

Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Haseebullah, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Irfan Khan Niazi, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mehran Mumtaz, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Ali, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Amir.

Earlier, star batter Babar Azam was on Sunday reappointed as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, two months ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Babar replaces fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20 captain. The pacer has been removed after just one series which Pakistan lost 1-4 to New Zealand in January.

The decision to reinstate Babar was taken after a unanimous recommendation from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) selection committee.

“Following unanimous recommendation from the PCB’s selection committee, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as white-ball (ODI and T20I) captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team,” the PCB said in a media release.

During a recent meeting in Lahore with PCB Chief Naqvi, Babar allegedly sought assurances about his tenure and asked to be appointed captain of the Test side as well.
