The Delhi Police have stepped up security around Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium ahead of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert on Friday (October 30, 2026) with around 2,000 private security guards expected to be deployed and vehicle movement likely to be restricted within a 500–metre radius of the venue.
The concert is expected to draw around 70,000 spectators, prompting traffic restrictions and special arrangements by the Delhi Metro to manage the rush.

The South district police have strengthened deployment around the stadium, while organisers have been asked to arrange additional security personnel and parking facilities and coordinate with cab aggregators to manage the influx of concertgoers and prevent traffic congestion.
According to the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, restrictions and diversions may remain in place from 1 p.m. to midnight on Friday (October 30, 2026), with 11 roads around the stadium likely to be affected.
The affected stretches include Bhishm Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg between the Defence Colony and Lodhi Colony flyovers, Arch Bishop Marg, Fourth Avenue Road, Fifth Avenue Road, internal roads of the CGO Complex and JLN Stadium, the Barapullah flyover between INA and Jangpura Metro stations, Gate No. 2, Dayal Singh College Road and internal roads of Lodhi Colony.

Traffic diversions may be implemented at eight points, including the Lodhi Road-Dayal Singh College Road T-point, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near the stadium, the slip road towards Soochna Bhawan, Bhishm Pitamah Marg near the stadium’s red light and the Kushak Nallah bus depot red light. Depending on traffic conditions, vehicles may be diverted towards Lodhi flyover, Arch Bishop Marg, Fourth Avenue Road and Aurobindo Marg.
Parking will not be available to the general public at or around the venue. Limited parking for special invitees will be provided at the Sunheri Nala bus depot and Dayal Singh College parking areas. Taxis, three-wheelers and cabs will not be allowed to park or halt along the roads, with pick-up and drop-off permitted only at designated locations.
Three pick-up and drop-off points have been identified at Arch Bishop Marg, Lal Masjid in Pragati Vihar and the Kushak Nallah bus depot red light. The traffic police have issued route suggestions for concertgoers travelling from different parts of the city and urged motorists to follow the instructions of traffic personnel and diversion signs. Emergency and medical vehicles will be given priority passage.
Metro services extended till midnight
To facilitate the movement of spectators, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will extend train services on all Metro lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro, Gurugram, until midnight on Friday. Additional train trips will be operated across the network, with standby trains kept ready to meet any surge in passenger numbers.
The timings for QR ticket purchases through the Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application will also be extended by an hour. Additional staff, customer service personnel and customer facilitation agents will be deployed at JLN Stadium Metro station and key interchange stations to guide commuters and regulate passenger movement.
Additional security personnel, door-frame metal detectors and enhanced screening arrangements will also be put in place at JLN Stadium Metro station to ensure orderly movement and security.
The JLN Stadium station on the Violet Line, which runs between Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh, is the closest Metro station to the venue. Concert-goers using the Violet Line can also alight at Jangpura, while those travelling on the Yellow Line can use INA or Jor Bagh stations and proceed towards the designated access points.
The traffic advisory has recommended that spectators use the Metro to avoid congestion around the stadium. Concertgoers have also been advised to reach the venue using the designated entry gates and pick-up and drop-off points.
The police have urged commuters to avoid affected roads wherever possible, not to park on roads and report unattended objects or suspicious activity to the nearest police personnel.
