The Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) arrested four people, including two women, for their alleged role in transporting a firearm to Mumbai ahead of the October 18 firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car. According to the police, the accused were acting on the instructions of Anil Pandit, who allegedly coordinated their movements through an encrypted messaging application.

The accused have been identified as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, both residents of Sonipat in Haryana, and Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, residents of Sitapur and Azamgarh districts in Uttar Pradesh, respectively.

According to a statement issued by the Special Cell, Kunal, who had recently been released on bail, was introduced to Pandit through a friend from Harsana village in Haryana. The two subsequently began communicating through an encrypted messaging application.

The police alleged that Kunal travelled to Amritsar on Pandit’s instructions to collect a pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition. Sumit allegedly accompanied him on the trip.

Investigators said Kunal had met Radha about two months earlier and developed a relationship with her. He allegedly disclosed details of his activities to her and persuaded her to travel to Mumbai with the firearm.

On October 15, Kunal allegedly accompanied Radha and Babita to New Delhi Railway Station, from where the two women boarded a train to Mumbai. The pistol was concealed in Radha’s bag, the police said. Kunal allegedly remained in contact with Pandit through the encrypted application and relayed his instructions to the women during their journey.

The two women reached Dadar on October 17 and checked into a hotel. At around 11 a.m. that day, a minor boy allegedly collected the bag containing the firearm from Radha near the hotel, according to the Special Cell.

The following day, at around 7 p.m., shots were fired at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. After the incident, Pandit allegedly contacted Kunal and told him that the shooters were stranded in Mumbai. He then instructed Kunal to arrange their escape, the police alleged.

Meanwhile, Radha and Babita left Mumbai on the Dadar-Haridwar Express on October 18.

The Special Cell said the two women were apprehended at New Delhi Railway Station on Tuesday (October 20), while Kunal and Sumit were apprehended in Sonipat.

All four were subsequently arrested and produced before a court under Section 35(1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Officials from the Maharashtra Police’s Crime Investigation Department (CID), Mumbai, subsequently moved an application before the court seeking permission to interrogate the accused in custody and formally arrest them in connection with the firing case. The court allowed the application, following which the Maharashtra Police team formally arrested all four accused.

The court also granted a subsequent application seeking three days’ transit remand, allowing the investigators to take the accused to Mumbai for further investigation.

The arrests point to a suspected operation involving the procurement and transportation of a firearm across State borders. However, the Special Cell’s statement does not establish whether the pistol allegedly transported by the accused has been conclusively linked to the firing incident or whether the alleged attempt to arrange the shooters’ escape was successful.
