The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday announced that 14,000 tickets would be kept aside for local club members and fans at a discounted rate for the much-awaited India-Brazil friendly at the Salt Lake Stadium here on October 3.

Addressing reporters here, AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey said he had discussions with representatives of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting, and the Indian Football Association (IFA) to find a way to accommodate the clubs’ members.

“A total of 14,000 tickets on the stands behind the two goalposts are available for the clubs and a discount will be offered on these tickets. Tickets in this category are reserved for individuals associated with football; they must obtain their tickets through the IFA,” said Chaubey.

However, he could not give any details about the match against Uruguay on October 6.

India will also host Panama in Bengaluru on September 25.

Chaubey said these matches would help India. “Don’t think India has ever played against such higher-ranked teams in the last 40 years. Have to look at the country’s long-term benefit.”

He said Sony would be the telecast and digital partner for these matches.
