Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is winning hearts on the Internet after breaking into the famous song rendered by Kishore Kumar, Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat, a video of which he shared on Saturday (September 12, 2026) night on social media platform X. The song is from the 1960s Dev Anand-starrer Teen Devian. Dressed in a crisp grey suit, he sings to a piano tune being played by an accompanist. The clip has garnered over a million views and is being shared widely.
It was not immediately known exactly when or where the video was taken.
Mr. Ibrahim attended the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, hosted by India on September 12 and 13 at the Bharat Mandapam complex in New Delhi.
“Prime Minister Ibrahim has in the past confessed to being a fan of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar, both Indian singing legends,” Shahrizan Salian, editor with Malaysia’s New Straits Times, who is in India to cover the BRICS Summit, told the PTI.
Mr. Ibrahim does not know Hindi, yet he managed to sing along to a piano tune without any visual aid to the lyrics. “It all came from his heart. Music has no language,” Mr. Salian said.
