DMK cadre stage a demonstration in Dindigul on Saturday.

DMK leader I. Periyasamy on Saturday condemned Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s ‘arrogant’ and ‘power-drunk’ remarks against his party president M. K. Stalin in the Assembly.
Talking to reporters after participating in a demonstration organised by the DMK to protest against Mr. Vijay’s remarks, he said the Chief Minister should learn politics and that he had no moral right to speak against Mr. Stalin.
Recalling that he had been an MLA for over three decades, he said he had never seen such ‘shameful’ proceedings in the Assembly. Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin raised 15 pertinent questions to the Chief Minister in the Assembly based on the failure of 100-day regime of TVK. The Chief Minister, who ‘arrogantly’ asked the DMK MLAs to wait for three days for his reply and not to absent themselves on that day, read out a speech prepared by someone.
“Even former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has spoken in anger in the Assembly and we have argued with her. We did not fear even the emergency, Our leader, M. Karunanidhi, made those who imposed emergency on the nation express regret,” he said.
No corruption charge made against DMK leaders had ever been proved, he said.
Mr. Vijay had referred to corruption charges against DMK with regard to Sarkaria Commission report. “Mr. Vijay lacks basic political knowledge,” he added.
Scores of DMK cadre took part in the protest held near the Corporation office. DMK leaders Sakkarapani and I. Senthil Kumar, were present.
At Virudhunagar, over 450 DMK cadre participated in the demonstration led by party district secretaries K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu. They raised slogans condemning the Chief Minister.
Former MP Dhanush M. Kumar, former MLAs A.R.R. Srinivasan and S. Thangapandian were among those who took part.
