Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s mother, Gowramma, has figured in the notice list as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) flagging discrepancies. Gowramma has been flagged for a ‘self-name mismatch’ in the Kanakapura constituency.

The list also includes Zerodha‘s founder and co-founder Nithin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath, and the entire family of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

The CEO’s office has said prominent persons and VIPs will not be inconvenienced and that officials themselves will visit them to complete the required process. The same procedure will be followed for elderly voters and persons with disabilities who may find it difficult to visit hearing centres.

Nikhil Kamath and Nithin Kamath have been flagged for ‘parents name mismatch’. Their mother Revathi Kamath has also been flagged for the same reason, all three in the Bengaluru South Assembly constituency.

Members of Nandan Nilekani’s family, his wife Rohini Nilekani, daughter Janhavi Nandan Nilekani, and son Nihar Nilekani have been flagged as ‘unmapped with last SIR (2002 rolls)’.

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner, M. Maheshwar Rao, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO) for Bengaluru, said steps would be taken to assist senior citizens who are unable to travel to hearing centres. Additional Electoral Registration Officers and Electoral Registration Officers have also been directed to be more accessible and assist the public. Mr. Rao, addressing the media on Wednesday, said a special campaign will also be held on September 19 and 20 to help voters file claims and objections through Form 6 (inclusion), Form 8 (changes), Form 6A (overseas electors) and Form 7 (deletion).
