Mahanagar Gas Ltd on Monday (August 31, 2026) announced a hike in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) price by ₹2 per kg across all their retail outlets.
CNG in Mumbai would now cost ₹88/kg. Price of Domestic PNG would also be hiked by ₹1/SCM.
Both hikes take effect from midnight of August 31, 2026.
On August 28, 2026, North India’s largest city-gas distributor Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) also announced of a price hike of compressed natural gas (CNG) across all its retail stations by ₹3.89 per kg as international prices of the input gas, that is, LNG, continues to remain elevated amid the re-escalation of the conflict in West Asia.
