“Craziest Bit Of Cricket”: Stunning Fielding Effort Turns Into Horror For Player In European Cricket. Watch

Posted on March 16, 2024 By admin

A hilarious video went viral on social media, showing a fielding goof-up by a player during a cricket match. The video was from the European Cricket League match between Independent Cricket Club and Donaustadt. Opting to bat first, Donaustad posted 147/4 in 10 overs. Later, they restricted the Independent CC at 133/5 and claimed victory by 14 runs. However, a hilarious fielding error by a Donaustad fielder, which gifted a boundary to the rivals, became the highlight of the match.

The incident took place in the first over of the Independent’s chase after a bowler threw a wide ball, which went between the legs of the wicketkeeper but a fielder showed his best effort and stopped it just before the boundary line. “Craziest bit of cricket,” said the commetator.

In the process, he even went across the advertisement boards, which were placed outside the boundary. However, all his efforts went in vain as the moment as he got up and collected the ball, he collided with the wicketkeeper. Resulting which, the ball fell down from the fielder’s hands and went across the boundary line.

Talking about cricket, the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick-start from March 22 with Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore facing each other in the opening match.

According to a report in the Times of India, a few BCCI officials are in the UAE to explore the possibility of moving the second half of the IPL to the Gulf country.

The decision could be taken as the dates of the General Elections might clash with the second half of the IPL. The Election Commission is expected to announce the date of the elections on Saturday, March 16.

“The Election Commission of India will announce the election schedule on Saturday at 3 pm. After that, the BCCI will decide whether should be moved to Dubai. Currently, a few top BCCI officials are in Dubai to explore the possibility of organizing the second half of the IPL in Dubai,” TOI quoted a BCCI official as saying.
