Hyderabad airport advises passengers to arrive early amid heightened security ahead of Independence Day

Passengers requiring transportation assistance can approach the transport help desk near Aero Plaza at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. The image is used for representative purposes only.

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has advised passengers to arrive earlier than usual and allow additional time for security checks amid heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day on August 15, 2026.

“Due to heightened security measures, passengers may experience longer wait times at the airport. Passengers are also encouraged to plan their commute in advance and factor in extra travel time to ensure a smooth journey,” as per the advisory issued on Tuesday (August 11, 2026).
