The opening round of the MRF MOGRIP-FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) for two wheelers, the 2W Rally of Coimbatore, will be held at the Pattanam-Vellalore stages here on August 2.
Organised by Coimbatore Auto Sports Club (CASC) and Godspeed (Pune), the event has attracted 75 riders from across the country.
This year, CASC is running the event close to the city, unlike the previous years, to make it convenient for all.
The total distance of the route is 79.06km with the total distance of the Special Stages at 54.70km. There will be two Special Stages — Black Thunder (13.05km) and SM Agro (14.30km), which will be run twice in the same direction.
“The new stages have been designed to be more technical and challenging for the riders,” said CASC Secretary J. Prithiviraj.
The rally is sponsored by MRF, TVS and PSG Hospitals.
