DVAC seizes ₹1.21 lakh from K.G. Chavadi RTO checkpost

Posted on July 13, 2026 By admin

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized ₹1.21 lakh in unaccounted cash from the Transport Department checkpost at K.G. Chavadi in Coimbatore district early Monday morning.

A team led by DVAC Inspector G. Arumugam carried out a surprise check at the RTO checkpost around 4 a.m. when Inspector Arul Das, Assistant Kalpana and Office Assistant Padma were on duty.

The DVAC sleuths recovered ₹1.21 lakh in unaccounted cash from the checkpost. The amount is alleged to have been collected by the personnel on duty from goods carriers heading to Kerala.

DVAC sources said the three personnel were on duty at the checkpost on a 12-hour shift that started at 8 p.m. on Sunday. They added that efforts were being taken to register a case in connection with the seizure of the unaccounted for cash.
