Inflow drops to 27 cusecs in Mettur Dam

The inflow into the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur dropped from 40 cusecs on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) to 27 cusecs on Wednesday (July 8, 2026), indicating the continuing poor inflow into the reservoir.

A Water Resources Department official said that at 8 a.m., the water level stood at 76.29 feet against the full reservoir level of 120 feet. The storage was 38.359 tmcft, as against the dam’s total capacity of 93.47 tmcft. The outflow was maintained at 1,500 cusecs into the Cauvery to meet drinking water requirements.

The water level in the Bhavanisagar Dam stood at 56.23 feet against its full reservoir level of 105 feet. At 4 p.m., the inflow was 5,677 cusecs, while the total outflow stood at 855 cusecs. The storage was 6.09 tmcft against the reservoir’s full capacity of 32.8 tmcft.
