The incident reportedly occurred around 2 a.m. on June 4 on the road connecting Yeshwanthpur and Goraguntepalya. The ambulance, with its siren blaring, was rushing the patient to a hospital when the bikers allegedly overtook the vehicle, performing wheelies instead of giving way.

Bengaluru’s footpaths belong to everyone but pedestrians

According to witnesses, the riders were not wearing helmets and number plates were not visible in the two-wheelers. They continued their stunts in front of the ambulance, obstructing its path despite the emergency vehicle’s siren.

Family members accompanying the patient recorded the incident on their mobile phones. The video has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread public outrage.

Acting on the suo motu complaint, the police tracked down one person and identified three two-wheelers involved in the incident .

The detained individual has been identified as Rahul. Police said the remaining accused were not found at their residences during raids and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.
