A 24-year-old habitual offender accused of luring women through social media, recording intimate photographs and videos without their consent and using the material to blackmail and extort money was arrested by the Gachibowli police.

The accused, identified as Kilari Nagateja alias Nani, was arrested on June 25 following an investigation into a complaint lodged by a woman on June 22.

According to police, the case relates to an incident at a hotel in Gachibowli, where the accused threatened the victim with a knife, forcibily recorded her nude photos and videos, recorded intimate photographs and videos, and extorted ₹1.1 lakh through online bank transfers.

During the investigation, police seized two mobile phones allegedly used in the crime and the knife used to threaten the victim.
