The State-level Bankers Committee (SLBC) has proposed a ₹17,500 crore Annual Credit Plan for 2026-27 for the Union Territory of Puducherry as against the previous year’s plan of ₹12,100 crore.
The ACP outlay, tabled at the review meeting of the SLBC, represents an increase of ₹5,400 crore over the plan outlay for 2025-26. In percentage terms, it works out to be 44.62% growth rate.
A major share of the outlay has been allocated for agriculture and the MSME sector.
The outlay for agriculture has been projected at ₹11,700 crore while the MSME sector has been earmarked ₹5,130 crore. An outlay of ₹670 crore has been projected for other priority sectors.
The ACP for 2026-27 was released by Shiv Bajrang Singh, Executive Director and Chairman of SLBC, Indian Bank and Krishna Mohan Uppu, Secretary to Government (Finance), Union Territory of Puducherry.
P.S. Harikrishnaraj, General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Chennai, Sathish Kumar, Lead District Manager and officials from various banks participated.
Earlier, an MoU was signed between Indian Bank and the Puducherry government for allotment of land for construction of building for Rural Self Employment Training Institute.
