At least 21 killed in fire in south Delhi hotel, several foreigners among those dead
A fire broke out at a hotel in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning (June 3, 2026), killing at least 21 people and leading to the rescue of more than 40 others. The majority of the deceased are reported to be foreign nationals.
Several of those killed are foreigners, mainly from Central Asia and Africa, officials said.
Anant Mittal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said the control room received information about the fire at 8:48 a.m. “Local police staff immediately reached the spot and commenced rescue, evacuation and relief operations,” he said.
