Amid tight security, Id-ul-Adha (Eid-ul-Adha) was celebrated across Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (May 28, 2026) with traditional zeal.
The devotees gathered in mosques and Idgahs for special prayers as administrations across the State maintained strict vigil and appealed to maintain peace and brotherhood. In sensitive locations in the districts like Sambhal, Meerut, Saharanpur, Rampur, Moradabad, Aligarh, Bareilly, Bahraich, Varanasi and Ayodhya, special security measures with deployment of the Provincial Armed Constabulary and Rapid Action Force and surveillance through CCTVs were put in place.
“Under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, Rampur, all the Circle Officers visited and inspected the Idgahs, took stock of the security arrangements and traffic management and gave necessary instructions to the policemen on duty,” said the police.
In Saharanpur, the police maintained strong security measures in sensitive locations and urged people to observe the festival in a safe environment.
