In an attempt to transform the State’s industrial ecosystem through sustainable and resource-efficient technologies, the Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch Energy and Water Efficiency programmes for MSMEs in partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
The initiative will be unveiled during the ‘MSME Growth Conclave’ scheduled to be held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Kala Vedika in Vijayawada on May 25.
In a statement on Wednesday, Industries Secretary N. Yuvaraj said the programme aligns with the Centre’s RAMP initiative and Andhra Pradesh’s MSME development policy, focusing on energy audits, water efficiency, technology upgradation and sustainable manufacturing across 15 MSME clusters covering over 1,000 enterprises.
The Detailed Project Reports will recommend energy-efficient machinery, water recycling systems and process optimisation measures.
The State government has also launched 175 MSME Parks, with proposed investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and employment potential for nearly 21,795 persons. Officials said Andhra Pradesh currently has over 21 lakh MSMEs contributing significantly to industrial growth and employment generation,he added.
A review meeting was held by Mr. Yuvaraj with MSME Development Corporation CEO M. Viswa Manoharan and EESL officials ahead of the conclave.
