The damaged car after the accident near Kumaravalasu in Tiruppur district that claimed six lives in the early hours of Wednesday

A police constable, a lorry driver, and four people who were travelling in a car were killed on the spot in an accident near Kumaravaalsu in Vellakovil, along the Tiruchi-Coimbatore National Highway, early Wednesday (May 13, 2026) morning.
The policeman, Ravikumar, and the lorry driver were on the road attempting to remove a barricade after a crash when the car rammed into them from behind, reportedly causing their death on the spot.
All four people travelling in the car, including a woman, also died on the spot.
Senior police officials are investigating the incident.
The bodies of the accident victims were shifted to the Tiruppur Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
