Murali Sreeshankar and Ancy Sojan won the men’s and women’s long jump events in the Indian Athletics Series-1 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Saturday.

Sreeshankar, the 2022 Asian Games silver medallist, had a good outing, going past the eight-meter mark in five of his six attempts. His 8.13m third effort was enough to finish clear of nearest rival, Bihar’s Sunny Kumar (7.90m).

Reliance’s Ancy dominated the women’s long jump, while 2025 Asian Championships bronze medallist Shaili Singh disappointed.

Ancy was full of energy, going into the lead with a leap of 6.54m in her first attempt. Shaili started with a 6.52m jump, but followed with four fouls.
