Late substitute Wout Weghorst snatched the Netherlands a 2-1 victory over a dogged Poland in their Euro 2024 opener in Hamburg on Sunday. Poland, without the injured Robert Lewandowski, led the Group D game through Adam Buksa’s header, but Cody Gakpo levelled before Weghorst swept home an 83rd-minute winner.
