Instagram is the heart of social media. And now after the CEO’s Ask Me Anything(AMA) weekly session, he has confirmed that Instagram will soon test 9:16 photos format. He said, “You can have tall videos, but you cannot have tall photos on Instagram. So we thought maybe we should make sure that we treat both equally”
Instagram normally shows photos at a ratio of 4:5, but after the update when it uses 9:16, it will cover up the whole screen in the app’s feed. This is a great news for full time content creators as it will help them in getting more and more screen-time.
Last week Mosseri said in his Ask Me Anything(AMA) session that the app in future is going to be more focused on videos than photos. He said, “We see this even if we change nothing, we see this even if you just look at the chronological feed, if you look at what people share on Instagram, that’s shifting more and more to videos over time”.
In it’s recent updates, Instagram has updated the maximum time limit for IG reels to 90 seconds. This helps the users of Instagram to share more and more content in one video .Another great feature in Instagram was adding the feature of pinning your posts to the top of your page. This helps the creators to pin their favorite photos to the top.
Kylie Jenner also said that she misses the old Instagram when it was a photo-sharing app. “Stop trying to be TikTok I just want to see cute photos of my friends. Sincerely, everyone,” Jenner said.
