Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday (August 11, 2026) in Gorakhpur said ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and urged people to display the national flag at their homes with pride and respect.

“Our Tricolour is a symbol of India’s honour, pride and glory. Throughout the freedom movement, our freedom fighters, at various times and in diverse manners, displayed different flags and infused new energy into the struggle. In 1905, the Swadeshi movement emerged as the fundamental principle of India’s quest for freedom. Subsequently, during the 1930s, the charkha positioned at the centre of the Tricolour symbolized the banner of the freedom fighters. Following the achievement of independence, the national flag was officially adopted, featuring the chakra that represents all states alongside the Tricolour.,” Mr. Adityanath said, addressing the gathering before inaugurating the Yatra.

The nearly two-and-a-half-kilometre-long yatra started from the Nagar Nigam premises to Railway Station Chowk, with the CM undertaking the padyatra carrying the Tricolour in his hand with the sentiment of ‘Nation First’. Mr. Aditayanath also paid floral tribute and offered flowers at the statue of Veerangana Maharani Lakshmibai located in the Nagar Nigam premises, paying homage to her contribution and sacrifice in the freedom struggle.

The CM added “Earlier, citizens had to engage in legal battles to raise the national flag, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji associated this act with the rights of every individual. This Tiranga Yatra is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s call to hoist the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which began in 2022, is moving towards its peak every year. Great personalities and revolutionaries are sources of inspiration for the youth,”. 

Speaking about sacrifice of great freedom fighters Mr. Adityanath added, “once, this Tricolour had become the mantra of India’s independence. Mangal Pandey had ignited the spark of freedom in Barrackpore. In Gorakhpur, Bandhu Singh, in Jhansi, Rani Lakshmibai, in Bithoor (Kanpur), Tatya Tope, and in Meerut, Dhan Singh Kotwal gave direction to the freedom movement. A very heavy price had to be paid for independence. In 1922, the historic incident of Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur shook the foundations of British rule.”

The U.P. CM alleged revolutionaries didn’t receive the respect they deserved due to neglect of earlier governments. “The revolutionaries could not receive the respect they deserved. Under the previous governments, memorials were not built in their names, and institutions and roads were not named after them. At that time, institutions were named after one family and schemes were run in their names. Today, freedom struggle martyrs are being honoured in India. They are also being honoured through Har Ghar Tiranga.”

Mr. Adityanath urged the people to put up the Tricolour they were carrying in their hands at their homes after the Tiranga Yatra and upload a selfie with it. “The state government has set a target of hoisting the Tricolour at five crore homes this year. Along with this, the Tricolour will be hoisted on the buildings of all government, semi-government, private, commercial and business establishments. This is a symbol of our respect for the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation,” added the U.P. CM. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday (July 11, 2026) in Ayodhya alleged that the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress disrespected the Hindu faith, alleging they had earlier allowed namaz to be offered at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya and demanded that they apologise for the sin. 

“These people had Namaz offered at Hanumangarhi, but can the SP, Congress, or any other government have the Hanuman Chalisa recited at Jama Masjid? If they cannot, then why did they commit the sin of having Namaz offered on the steps of Hanumangarhi? Those pretending to have faith committed this sin, whereas the BJP established Ayodhya as the cultural capital of Sanatan Dharma,” said Mr. Adityanath, while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 217 development projects worth more than ₹432 crore in Bikapur Assembly constituency under Ayodhya district.

It was Mr. Adityanath’s first visit to Ayodhya since the donation embezzlement episode. 

Mr. Adityanath alleged Ayodhya remained neglected and deprived of development due to the lack of roads, electricity, and water, adding that under previous governments, inadequate arrangements prevented devotees from receiving the blessings of Maa Saryu. But now the sacred stream of Maa Saryu is blessing Ayodhya.

“If the intentions are sincere and the policy is transparent, even divine support is granted. With the blessings of Lord Ram and Pawanputra Hanuman, all endeavours progress effortlessly. The citizens of Bikapur have elected a commendable MLA, and the signs of development are unmistakable. Just as Ayodhya’s splendour has reached its zenith nationally, development initiatives are equally evident in Bikapur. When dedicated public representatives engage in developmental activities, the outcomes are as favourable as those currently observed in Ayodhya, Bikapur, Milkipur, Gosainganj, and Rudauli. Ayodhya has now attained prosperity and stands unmatched across the three realms. Its streets are illuminated and vibrant. In accordance with Prime Minister Modi’s vision, Ayodhya, the capital of the Suryavansh, has transformed into a Solar City. A continuous stretch of ghats now exists from Naya Ghat to Guptar Ghat,” he said. 

Hitting out at the SP, the CM said, “These people used to mislead the public in the name of an airport, but now Ayodhya has an international airport named after Maharshi Valmiki. Ayodhya is now connected with cities across the country. Since the SP and Congress could achieve nothing, they are opposing Ayodhya. The double-engine government promoted social harmony by building a night shelter in the name of Nishadraj and a dining facility in the name of Maa Shabari. Just as Har Ki Paidi is in Haridwar, Ayodhya now has Ram Ki Paidi,” added Mr. Adityanath. 

The CM announced, “Last time, the Bikapur MLA had Gram Panchayat Khirauni-Suchittaganj declared a Nagar Panchayat. Now, on his request, this Nagar Panchayat will be named after Maa Jwala Devi. Everyone has seen the true character of the Samajwadi Party when their chairman committed misconduct in Bhadarsa. Bhadarsa Nagar Panchayat will now be known as Bharatpur Bharatkund,”. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday (May 21, 2026) directed officials to make sure investment reaches every district; focus must also be on increasing the per capita income of districts.

The CM emphasised expanding the land bank, adding that the incentives provided for investment should be turned into events to honour investors and boost their morale.

Mr. Adityanath made the statement on Thursday (May 22) in a meeting with Invest U.P. officials during which he conducted a detailed review of the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC 5.0).

“Officials informed the Chief Minister that investment proposals worth more than ₹7 lakh crore are ready to be implemented on the ground. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that investment under GBC 5.0 reaches every district. The CM emphasized increasing the per capita income of districts and said that promoting manufacturing power is essential for this purpose,” reads an official statement. 

The presentation of the GBC event included stage design, pathways, and exhibition layout. The exhibition has been divided into eight zones. The first zone is ‘Why UP’, which will comprehensively showcase Uttar Pradesh’s transformed landscape. Zone 2 will focus on infrastructural transformation, Zone 3 on defence and aerospace, Zone 4 on EV and green energy sustainability, Zone 5 on electronics manufacturing, Zone 6 on textiles, Zone 7 on tourism, and Zone 8 on the meaningful transformation in Uttar Pradesh’s food processing sector.

“Demand for land in the Defence Corridor has increased rapidly. Accordingly, emphasis must be placed on ensuring land availability. In addition, updated information should also be obtained regarding those projects where land had been allotted years ago but investment has still not taken place,” said Mr. Adityanath, emphasising that attracting FDI is among the most important issues today, and extensive efforts must be made in this direction.

Along with this, issues related to the public should remain among our priorities. “While signing MoUs, complete verification and background information regarding institutions must be ensured. If investors are treated well and their problems are resolved on time, they will work like brand ambassadors for the state. The U.P. CM stressed expanding the land bank. He said that incentives given for investments should be turned into events to honour investors and boost their morale,” added the State government statement. 

Mr. Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh is now moving beyond the image of a traditional industrial state and is emerging as a national hub for defence manufacturing, electronics, green energy, data centres, logistics, and high-tech manufacturing. A presentation regarding the proposed Uttar Pradesh Defence and FDI Conclave 2026 under the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor was also made before the Chief Minister.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday warned against the offering of namaz on roads and suggested that such religious practices should be conducted in shifts at designated places of worship.

Speaking at an event organised by a Hindi newspaper in Lucknow, Mr. Adityanath stressed that blocking traffic to offer namaz or any other religious practice will not be allowed by his government.

“After all, roads are meant for commuting, not to create a ‘tamasha‘ [scene]. What right does anyone have to block a road? Let them go and offer prayers at their designated places of worship,” he said.

The Chief Minister’s remarks come days ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, which will be observed on May 28.

Mr. Adityanath said he had reminded the community to offer prayers in shifts.

“If you lack the space to accommodate everyone in your homes, then you must exercise control over your numbers [population],” he said.

“Furthermore, if you wish to coexist within this system, you must abide by its rules and laws. The rule of law shall prevail. If offering namaz is essential to you, then do so in shifts. We will not stop you from praying. However, it will not be permitted on the streets,” he added.

Mr. Adityanath warned that his government has made it clear to every citizen of the State that such disruptions on roads will not be tolerated anymore.

“We will not allow anarchy to spread on the streets. If you comply peacefully, it is well and good. If you don’t, we will be forced to take other measures. Our primary objective is to engage in dialogue. If you listen to us, excellent. If not, be prepared to face the consequences of confrontation,” he said.

“In Bareilly, some individuals attempted to test our resolve, and they certainly witnessed the extent of our power,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that his government has adopted a positive approach towards governance and has worked without any discrimination on the basis of caste, region, language, or religion.

“We have said that the entire population of the state, every single resident, is part of our family. We have to work with the aim of holistic development,” Mr. Adityanath said.

Reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chaand said the Constitution gives religious freedom to everyone.

“Elections are coming up in Uttar Pradesh next year. And whenever elections draw near, the BJP’s lens becomes religiously tinted,” he said.

Mr. Chaand said the Chief Minister’s statements are to distract people from core issues, such as aspirant teachers not getting jobs, unemployment, inflation, and problems faced by youths and farmers.

“The Samajwadi Party is ready. The PDA (Picchde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak, or Backwards, Dalits and Minorities) are ready to take on the BJP and its divisive and hateful politics. Neither Samajwadi Party nor any other opposition party will allow the negative politics of the BJP to dominate the discourse,” he told PTI Videos.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday (May 16, 2026) laid the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in Gorakhpur, announcing that a new sports complex will come up on 60 acres of land adjacent to the facility.

“While an international cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators will be built on 46 acres, a world-class sports complex will also be constructed on the adjoining 60 acres. All indoor game facilities will be made available there, and outdoor games such as hockey will also be possible. The construction of the stadium and the complex will give rise to a new chain of hotels, restaurants and markets in the area, and generate a large number of employment opportunities,” the Chief Minister said at the bhoomi pujan for the stadium, which is to be built at a cost of around ₹393 crore in Tal Nador, Gorakhpur.

Speaking about the Tal Nador area, Mr. Adityanath said it was barren and neglected until a few years ago, and that encroachments had since been cleared.

“The double-engine government is providing an excellent platform on this land to shape the future of youth. The stadium will fulfil the dreams of youth and future generations. Government land will be used for public welfare and development projects. With the same vision, a veterinary college is also being established in Tal Nador,” he said.

Mr. Adityanath said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government had made the state free of mafias, hooliganism, riots and curfews, and that development and employment generation followed naturally from such stability.

“People who divide society on the basis of caste, language and region cannot be well-wishers of the public. When such people held power, they spread hooliganism, anarchy and disorder. Instead of public welfare, they misused power for their families. The double-engine government is working for public welfare and employment generation,” he said.

On sports employment, the Chief Minister said around 550 medal-winning players had so far been given government jobs through direct recruitment in Uttar Pradesh, and that appointments for another 500 players had been announced.

“Appointment letters will soon be provided through direct recruitment to players winning medals in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and other competitions,” he said, adding that the government was fulfilling its responsibility of providing infrastructure to players. Sports grounds are being developed in every village, mini stadiums at block level and stadiums at the district level, he added.

Political slugfest erupted on Saturday (May 2, 2026) over Uttar Pradesh Deputy CMs, Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, meeting each other, as Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, in a cryptic post, remarked that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was missing.

Mr. Pathak and Mr. Maurya, hit back adding their doors are open 24 hours a day to serve the public and negative comments by Mr. Yadav is unnecessary and highlights frustration.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday (May 1, 2026) said the Labour Department has been instructed to form a new wage board and ensure that all workers, particularly those employed in industries with 10 or more employees, receive equitable wages.

Addressing the ‘Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh 2026’ on International Labour Day in Lucknow, he said industry and labour were interdependent. “If industry advances, workers will also advance; and if workers thrive, industries will flourish swiftly. Additionally, efforts are under way in collaboration with insurance companies and entrepreneurs to offer free annual health insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh to workers in industrial regions, facilitating treatment in approved hospitals,” he said.

Accusing the TMC of pursuing appeasement policies in West Bengal, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (April 13, 2026) urged people to vote for a “double-engine” government here to bring in “a truly inclusive regime”.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday (January 10, 2026) participated in the 726th birth anniversary celebration of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Maharaj at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj and said the saint community works to unite the entire society.

The Chief Minister alleged that those who claim to champion secularism are silent on the violence against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. “Division on caste, sect-religion basis can become cause of total destruction, like what’s seen in Bangladesh today. No one speaks on incidents there. Shops of those running contract in secularism’s name wield power to break Hindu society and Sanatan Dharma, but on Bangladesh incidents, Fevikol and tape seem stuck on their mouths. No candle march even on Bangladesh incidents. This is a warning for us too,” said Mr. Adityanath. 

The U.P. CM added those dividing society today can never be well-wishers of the nation and cautioned people from opposition parties. “When in power, these people [opposition parties] couldn’t think beyond family. They will give many slogans again, but when opportunity comes, they will do the same as before. Identity crisis, attacks on Sanatan Dharma. We must not allow repetition,” he said, adding that the double engine Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government always stands to strengthen Sanatan Dharma.

“Never let dividers, breakers, weakeners flourish. If we all advance with this resolve, coming time is Sanatan Dharma’s. Just as flag waves on Ram Mandir, Sanatan flag will wave worldwide, and then no audacity to cut weak, Dalit Hindus in Bangladesh,” said the U.P. CM. 

Mr. Adityanath described Prayagraj as a holy land developed as Sanatan Dharma’s centre by Maharishi Bhardwaj, Maharishi Valmiki, other revered sages through penance-sadhana. The U.P. CM also reviewed the preparations for the Magh Mela, directing officials to make sure all major bathing rituals to be conducted smoothly, maintaining purity, effective communication, and strong coordination.

“Administrative alertness, extensive use of technology, and close inter-departmental coordination are ensuring convenience and safety for devotees. I am happy for getting the opportunity to take a holy dip and offer prayers at the sacred Triveni Sangam during the Magh month,” added the U.P. CM. He said, comprehensive preparations have been made by all departments to ensure the successful conduct of the Magh Mela.
