A mandal surveyor of Saidapur mandal in Karimnagar district, along with two private assistants, was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday for demanding and accepting a bribe for carrying out an official land survey.

The accused, Yekkaladevi Kumaraswamy, was trapped by the ACB Karimnagar Range after accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 through his aides for processing a land survey request.

The complaint was related to a survey of land belonging to the complainant at Ammangurthi village in Saidapur mandal. Investigators said the officer had initially demanded ₹25,000 for the work and had already accepted ₹5,000 through a UPI transaction on May 23, 2026. Subsequently, ₹10,000 was accepted in cash on June 2, 2026 through private assistant Vanga Vihith Reddy, while the remaining ₹10,000 was received today through another private assistant, Teegala Rajesh.

The tainted amount of ₹10,000 was recovered from the possession of Teegala Rajesh during the trap operation.

Following the operation, the accused officer and both private assistants were arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar.

The case is currently under investigation, and further inquiry is under way into the involvement and financial trail of the accused.

The ACB kept the identity of the complainant confidential for security reasons and has urged people to report incidents of bribery through its toll-free number 1064 or via its official social media channels.
