The Road to Wrestlemania 41 kicks off with the Royal Rumble, the first premium pay-per-view of the year. This year’s Royal Rumble features only two matches besides the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, but both the matches bring in the heat. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will defend his title, on what promises to be an intriguing clash, in a ladder match against former friend-turned-enemy Kevin Owens. Since then, their battle has turned into a thrilling rivalry, making the fans excited for their match. The other title match is between the WWE tag team champions DIY and former champions, Motor City Machine Guns. DIY and MCMG will battle it out in a “two out of three falls” match that has the potential to win the hearts of fans. The show will get underway Sunday, February 2 at 4:30 AM IST.

WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Predictions

Men’s Royal Rumble Match: Rilvalries will be on focus Seth Rollins earlier stated that he wants to throw Roman Reigns and Jey USO out of the ring and lastly, he wants CM Punk to be eliminated as the last man. There are big names like John Cena, who will be participating for the last time in the Royal Rumble. I believe that we will get to see a classic showdown between John Cena and CM Punk, who returned on Survivor Series 2023. Randy Orton has been out of the ring for sometime because of his injury but there have been rumours that Randy Orton might  make a surprise comeback. Cena and Punk have the best storyline and the fight between the two as the last man standing could really excite the fans. Cena, after stating that he will be participating in the Royal Rumble has not been present since and my prediction would be that Punk takes the win home as the last man standing. 

Prediction: CM Punk wins the Men’s Royal Rumble (To challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 41)

Women’s Royal Rumble Match: In the Women’s Royal Rumble, stars like Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, Iyo Sky will be battling it out for the win. I believe that there could be a big showdown between Nia and Charlotte’s strength. Also, there are many stars like Becky Lynch, AJ Lee and Alexa Bliss that could surprise everyone with their return in the ring at Royal Rumble. Charlotte Flair is the one that comes to my mind that I would pick to thrive among the 29 competitors. 

Prediction: Charlotte Flair wins the Royal Rumble

Undisputed WWE Championship — Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens (Ladder Match):

These two have been making headlines for a while now. Cody Rhodes has been the reigning Champion for 296 days and Kevin Owens has consecutively lost 3 Championship matches. While Cody has defeated big stars like Roman Reigns, AJ Styles and Solo Sikoa to defend his title and be the reigning champion, there is a chance that WWE’s storyline could let Kevin win and prove his worth in the upcoming match. I believe “The American Nightmare” will retain his title and continue to defend his title against stars like Roman Reign, Seth Rollins.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes successfully defends his title against Kevin Owens.

WWE Tag Team Championship — DIY vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match): DIY won the WWE Tag Team Championship in December 2024 by defeating Motor City Machine Guns and I believe it is soon for WWE to take the belts from them. Motor City Machine Guns will surely be a tough opponent as they are looking to take back their belts. I will choose DIY to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. 

Prediction: DIY to retain WWE Tag Team Champion title.

Former Indian WWE wrestler ‘The Great Khali’ took a holy dip in the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela on Thursday. According to his Instagram post, Khali was accompanied by his peers, who assisted him as he took the dip. The ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 which is considered to be the largest gathering in the world witnessed the attendance of numerous celebrities who reached Prayagraj to take a holy dip in Triveni Sangam.

The following are few videos shared by the former WWE star. In the videos it can be clearly seen that over-enthusiastic devotees and security officials thronging him for selfie. 

Actor and model Milind Soman took a dip in Triveni Sangam at the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, along with his wife Ankita Konwar.

Taking to Instagram, actor Milind Soman shared a series of pictures in which he was seen taking a holy dip in the Sangam. He also expressed his condolences for the victims of the stampede which occurred at the dawn of Wednesday.

In the photos, the actor is wearing a yellow dhoti while taking a dip in the Triveni Sangam. Sharing the pictures, he wrote:

“Blessed to be at the Mahakumbh with @ankita_earthy on the very special day of mauni amavasya! Such a spiritual space and experience reminds me of how small and insignificant I am in the vastness of existence and how every moment that we are here is so special. Even though my heart is full, I am saddened by the events of last night, and my prayers are with the families who lost loved ones. Har Har Gange! Har Har Mahadev!!”

On the same day, veteran actor-turned-politician Hema Malini also took a dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

“It is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to take a ‘snan’ on this auspicious day,” the BJP MP said.

Apart from Hema Malini, several other celebrities, including Sunil Grover, Kabir Khan, Guru Randhawa, Avinash Tiwary, Mamta Kulkarni, and Anupam Kher, have also participated in the grand religious gathering.

Wrestler JD McDonagh was rushed to the hospital after his risky move went wrong during WWE Raw on Tuesday (IST). McDonagh, who was competing in a World Tag Championship alongside Dominik Mysterio, springboard moonsault flip on War Raiders’ Ivar. The move saw McDonagh make an awkward landing before whiplashing into the announcers desk. The “Irish Ace” was seen whiplashing into the commentary table as he landed on Ivar with his head snapping back after direct contact between the top of the signage fence and his neck.

McDonagh was in visible pain after the incident, with Ivar even breaking character to check on his opponent.

Commentator Michael Cole also urged for medical help, saying that McDonagh should be checked on to make sure he was ok.

“Somebody’s got to McDonagh after that. McDonagh’s lucky he doesn’t have a damn broken neck,” Cole was heard as saying on-air.

While McDonagh managed to carry on and complete the match, fans at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta spotted him collapsed on the ground backstage.

This came the War Raiders pinned Mysterio and McDonagh to retain the WWE World Tag Championship.

WWE later confirmed that he had broken several ribs and even punctured a lung in the process.

McDonagh himself took to social media and addressed the incident.

“First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I’m good. I’ve got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I’m going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I’m grateful for that. See ya in a bit,” McDonagh posted on X.

As a result, McDonagh will miss the upcoming Royal Rumble event on February 2 (IST).

Paul Heyman appeared on this week’s Monday Night Raw to reveal that Roman Reigns will be the cover star for the WWE 2K25 game. The other cover of the game – which showcased the ‘Bloodline’ edition – comprised of various stars in the faction including Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. WWE 2K25 will be released on 14 March, 2025 with pre-orders starting 28 January, 2025. Fans get to choose between the “Bloodline Deluxe Edition” and the one with The Undertaker on its cover. The Bloodline was officially formed in July 2021 and over the years, it had a number of members like Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, The Tongans and Jacob Fatu.

Earlier, Paul Heyman said that being on the poster was a huge responsibility and Roman Reigns could and would always live up to that. He would be in the Royal Rumble, defeat all the players and throw them out of the ring. Heyman went on to say that everyone backstage had one prayer at night: to pray and become more like The Original Tribal Chief.

Recently, Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat and became the Undisputed Tribal Chief in the process. It could be that an Elite Alliance could be created by uniting the Bloodline and Sikoa-led Bloodline.

Roman Reigns has been a superstar in the WWE, from being in the most notorious group, The Shield, which always created havoc in the ring to having feuds with major stars like Brock Lesnar, John Cena.

Also, he always tried to unite the Bloodline proving he is The Original Tribal Chief.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returns to primetime, having been revived in December 2024 after a long 16-year hiatus. The event features exciting matchups like WWE World Heavyweight champion Gunther taking on ‘mainevent’ Jey USO, Intercontinental champion Bron Breakker vs Sheamus. The event will take place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. As the name suggests, Saturday Night’s main event focuses on star versus star performances that are rarely seen on television. In September 2024, as part of an agreement of moving WWE Smackdown from FOX to USA Network, WWE announced it would revive Saturday Night’s main event.
