Trinamool Congress’s Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra on Thursday alleged that she faced harassment from a group of men on board an IndiGo flight while travelling to Delhi to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence.

In a post on social media platform X, the Trinamool MP said the incident took place on IndiGo flight 6E 719.

“I travelled to Delhi today on official work to attend the meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. Was on seat 1F on 6E 719. 4-6 men boarded in a group & leered at me & went to back of plane,” Ms. Moitra wrote, sharing a video.

She alleged that after the flight landed and before the aircraft doors opened, the men heckled her and filmed the episode. “This is no ‘citizen anger’. This is harassment & violates my safety in an aircraft. No way that these louts can get away with this harassment inside an airplane,” she said.

Ms. Moitra tagged IndiGo and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, urging action against those involved. “Find your crew report, name & shame them & put on no-fly list,” read her post addressed to the airline.

In a second post, she said, “This is BJP culture. Why is anyone surprised.” Ms. Moitra said she had ignored the incident and went to the meeting, but came across the video that was “made viral” and decided to call it out.

“I ignored it & went to my mtng [meeting] from airport. Then people forwarded me video which the Sanghis were ‘viralling’. That’s when I called it out,” she said.

Ms. Moitra added that she would send a formal complaint to the airline.

There was no immediate response from IndiGo or the Civil Aviation Ministry.

On May 4, 2026, a tsunami of sorts swept across the State of Tamil Nadu and one man crested the wave – C. Joseph Vijay. An actor, once known as ‘ IllayaThalapathy’, or young commander, amongst his fans, he transitioned a decade ago to the title Thalapathy(commander), a moniker prescient enough, for he did lead his people through one of the most historic debut political appearances in the history of elections in India. In 2026, he was the hero of a full-length feature film starring the Dravidian duopoly and vanquished them.

BJP strategy to defame Bengal: TMC’s Shashi Panja alleges poll-day provocation after EC orders repoll

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shashi Panja on Friday (May 1) alleged that the BJP had tried to “provoke” other parties on polling day to trigger large-scale repolling and “defame Bengal,” after the Election Commission ordered repolling in 15 booths in South 24 Parganas on Saturday (May 2).

Addressing the media after meeting the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Panja said, “We are meeting with the Additional Chief Electoral Officer. Strong room CCTVs are not working properly in some places. So, we demand that the EC take proper care of this. Why is the process not fully transparent?”
