Bulandshahr:

A court here on Monday sentenced a 48-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping his mother, a government counsel said.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 51,000 on the man, the counsel said.

Additional Government Advocate Vijay Kumar Sharma said the incident took place on January 16, 2023, in a village under Dehat police station limits where Aabid took his mother to the fields to get fodder and raped her there.

Aabid fled the spot after committing the crime and was later caught by his brothers Yusuf and Javed, Sharma said.

On January 21, 2023, a case was registered under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he said.

In the hearing on Monday, Additional District Judge Varun Mohit Nigam held Aabid guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment, apart from slapping a fine of Rs 51,000 on him, he added.

Farrukhabad:

A 13-year-old girl here has become pregnant allegedly after she was raped by a government school peon, police said on Saturday.

An FIR has been lodged against the peon of the council school and his associate who allegedly helped him during the incident some months ago, the police said.

“The family of the 13-year-old girl has lodged a case against the accused men. The girl had gone to defecate at night when Pankaj and Amit of the village caught her and took her to an empty house where Amit raped her while Pankaj stood outside and kept a watch,” a police official said, citing the complaint.

“The accused raped her by stuffing a cloth in her mouth. After this, the girl was threatened that if she complained, they would kill her. But when the girl became five-month pregnant, her mother came to know about the matter. After which the mother approached the local police,” the official said.

An FIR has been lodged on charges of rape and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused, the police said.

Pankaj is a peon in council school and he got the job as the dependent of a dead person, they said.

Kayamganj Kotwali in-charge Inspector Ram Avatar said that initial medical check-up on the girl has been done.

“No one has been arrested yet. Arrests will be made soon in the case,” the official added.

Pratapgarh:

A special court has convicted a man of raping his minor step-daughter about five years ago and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.

Additional District Government Advocate (ADGC) Devesh Chandra Tripathi said on Sunday the court of Special Judge (POCSO Act) Parul Verma sentenced the guilty step-father Rakesh to twenty years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.

Devesh Chandra Tripathi said that the complainant alleged in the complaint given to the police that on the night of September 9, 2019, her husband Rakesh, in a drunken state, raped the ten-year-old girl in the dark of the night.

When she started screaming in pain, the complainant switched on the light and saw that her husband was allegedly trying to kill the girl by strangling her with a gas pipe.

The girl said that her step-father had been sexually abusing her for three years. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections and after completing the investigation, filed a chargesheet in the court.
