17-year-old Aman is guilty of the crime and has been sent to a juvenile home.

One fine morning, when a woman went to her son’s bedroom, to wake him up for school, little did she know it would become the cause of her death. On December 3, Aarti Devi, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, asked her 17-year-old son, Aman, to get up for school. But the teenager wasn’t in the mood. Instead, he got angry and pushed his mother to the ground, leading to a fatal head injury. The case came to light after Aarti’s husband Ram Milan, a scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Chennai, tried calling her multiple times but found the phone to be switched off.

The horror doesn’t end here.

After killing his mother, Aman cut off the CCTV, locked the house from outside and lived with the dead body for four days. When the body began to rot and smell, he started burning incense sticks.

On the fifth day, the teenager decided to step out and sit at a nearby temple.

When Aarti didn’t answer her partner’s phone calls for two to three days, Ram Milan got worried. He dialed his sister-in-law and requested her to check on his family.

The sister-in-law found the house locked from inside. The smell coming from the house was too strong to be ignored. It smelled of crime.

“I flew back to Gorakhpur on December 8. I saw my wife’s body lying in a pool of blood,” said Ram Milan.

The family informed the police who sprang into action and sent the body for postmortem. The boy was found sitting near a pond at a nearby temple.

Initially, the boy informed the police that his mother died due to a fall. He panicked and fled the house and wandered for four days, Aman told Police.

However, the investigation raised questions. Police found bloodstains at two different spots, indicating the body was dragged. They also recovered cash from the teenager’s room.

According to the neighbours, Aman was an addict. He would take up money from his mother in the name of coaching but would spend it on alcohol and drugs. Reportedly, the school too had complaints against Aman.

“During interrogation, the boy confessed on Tuesday evening that on the morning of December 3, his mother asked him to go to school. When he refused, a dispute over money ensued, and his mother threw cash at him in frustration,” Superintendent of Police (North) Jitendra Srivastava told news agency PTI.

Raged, the teenager pushed his mother.

A case has been registered against Aman and he has been sent to a juvenile home.

Aarti Devi used to live with her son in Sushant City in Pipraich, Gorakhpur, while her partner stayed in Chennai for work and her elder daughter was in another city, studying MBBS.

Police have registered a murder case (Representational)

Lucknow:

An argument at a birthday party led to the death of a guest when two youths beat him up, under the Cantonment police station area, the police said.

According to the police, both the victim and accused were aged below 25 years.

The victim, identified as Nitin Prakash of Bhagwant Nagar, in the Nilmatha area, was invited to the party organised on the birthday of his friend, Monu Bose of the same locality on Thursday. He was invited along with his brother, Sachin Prakash.

Monu had also invited Nitin’s friend-turned-foe Ritik, of Durgapuri locality in the area, who along with his aides was attending the party.

While partying, Nitin ran into Ritik and started arguing, with Ritik’s aides ganging up. They caught Nitin, took him outside the venue, and attacked him with bricks.

“There were too many people but there was no one to help us. Ritik and his aides dragged Nitin outside the tent where the party was on and then they all attacked him with bricks. They pinned him down and smashed his head with bricks before fleeing the scene.”

“The elders rushed to the scene when they heard Nitin and me crying for help and Nitin was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead,” Sachin said in the FIR.

The woman had married in February last year

New Delhi:

Hours after a woman died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, her family allegedly set her husband’s house on fire, killing her parents-in-law, the police said on Tuesday.

Three more people, including the woman’s husband, were injured in the fire, they said.

The woman, Anshika Kesarwani, was found hanging at her in-laws’ house on Monday night. The 27-year-old had married in February last year.

As soon as news of Anshika’s death emerged, her parents and other family members allegedly rushed to her in-laws’ house and accused them of harassing the young woman for dowry and driving her to suicide.

As the fight escalated, Anshika’s relatives allegedly set the house on fire. Both her mother-in-law and father-in-law were found dead after the blaze was put out.

Prayagraj City Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Bhuker said that they had received a call at 11 pm that a woman had died by suicide.

“When the police team reached the spot, people from both sides were fighting. During the argument, the in-laws’ house was set on fire by the woman’s maternal side. Police immediately rescued five people and informed the fire brigade,” he said.

As the firefighters put out the fire around 3 am, the entire house was searched, and two bodies were recovered, Mr Bhuker said.

They were identified as Rajendra Kesarwani, the girl’s father-in-law, and Shobha Devi, the girl’s mother-in-law, the officer said.

Those who were injured in the fire were the woman’s husband, Rajendra’s daughter Shivani, and Lovely Kesarwani, the wife of his younger brother, the police said.

It appears that someone close to the family murdered them, police said. (Representational)

Etawah, UP:

Two minor sisters, aged four and seven years, were found dead with their throats slit in a village in UP on Sunday, police said.

The incident took place in Bahadurpur village under the Balrai police station area and it appears that someone close to the family murdered them, they said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar said the bodies of Surbhi, 7, and Roshni, 4, daughters of one Jaiveer Singh, were found in separate rooms of their home in the evening.

Jaiveer, his wife, and their elder children were not present at home when the incident occurred, police said.

“No accused has been identified by the family yet. Prima facie, it appears that someone close to the family killed the sisters after finding them alone and fled the spot,” the officer said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and an investigation has been launched.
