Sant Kabir Nagar:

An elderly man was allegedly trashed to death by his nephews, who attacked him with bricks here on Sunday morning, police said.

Officials said that the two accused have been arrested.

The incident took place in Supa village, Bakhira area when the accused, Baliram and Shakti, killed Ram Sumer Gautam (65) by hitting him on the head using bricks, a police officer said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Gautam did not have any children and lived with his nephews. He was upset with them for the past week and refused to eat food prepared by the two, the officer said.

The dispute escalated as the nephews reportedly asked him to leave the house, but Gautam refused, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sunil Kumar said.

On Sunday a fight broke between them, during which the two nephews allegedly used bricks and nails to assault Gautam. He was injured and was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead, Kumar added.

The ASP said that the body has been sent for post-mortem and the accused have been arrested.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, he said.

A three-year-old girl was raped allegedly in the house of her neighbour in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, said the police, adding that the woman, who witnessed the crime, and her accused friend have been arrested.

“Our child was playing outside. She was lured by way of chocolates, chips and then she was raped. When she returned home, she pointed to her groin and said it’s hurting. She was heavily bleeding,” said the victim’s mother.

The mother added that they rushed to a police station, and the cops then took them to a hospital.

“Based on the woman’s complaint, a case has been filed against their neighbour, her male friend. The two have been arrested,” said a senior police officer.

The girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital and is said to be stable.

Auraiya:

A girl’s grandfather, father and uncle have been arrested here for allegedly raping the minor over a period of several months, leading to her pregnancy, police said on Saturday.

Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Misha said the girl, accompanied by a woman relative, had approached the local Bidhuna police station with the complaint on Friday following which an FIR was lodged and investigation was launched.

“She said her grandfather, father and uncle had been sexually exploiting her for the last several months. The girl was taken for medical examination and prime facie it has come to light that she is two-month pregnant,” Mishra said.

“The accused have been arrested and were produced in a local court which has remanded them in judicial custody,” he added.

The officer said the FIR was lodged under sections 64 (f) (rape by a relative, guardian or person in a position of trust or authority, 65 (1) (rape of girl below 16 years of age), 232 (threatening any person to give false evidence), among others of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Charges have also been invoked under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Mishra said.

He said further investigations and legal proceedings in the case are underway.

Bhadohi:

A 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train along with her two-year-old daughter after her insistence to go to Gujarat with her husband was not fulfilled, police said.

The woman jumped in front of Bapu Dham Express going from Muzaffarpur to Prayagraj on the railway track behind the Oonjh Police Station taking her two-year-old daughter in her lap due to which both of them died, said SHO Ramakant Yadav.

Virendra Bind, a resident of Suriyava Police Station area (in Bhadohi district), works in Surat city. He came home during Diwali and was preparing to return to work after the festival was over, he added.

Yadav said that his wife Lakshmi Devi (25) wanted to live in Surat with her husband and two-year-old daughter Riyashi. Her husband said that when he takes a room on rent, he will take her along. But his wife was adamant on going along, the SHO said.

After a dispute on this issue, Lakshmi left the house with her daughter and when her husband called and asked where she was going, she told him that she was going to die by getting hit by a train at Suriyava station, he added.

The SHO said that the woman’s husband and family members went to Suriyava to look for her but the woman went in the opposite direction and went behind the Oonjh Police Station boundary and jumped in front of the Bapu Dham Express.

The police have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination, he added.

Sultanpur, UP:

The beheaded body of a man who went missing here a month ago was recovered from a well on Tuesday, police said.

SHO of Kotwali Dehat police station Satyendra Kumar Singh said the beheaded body was first taken out with the help of police force, and divers subsequently brought out the severed head.

The victim Vinod Mishra (40), a resident of Agresar village under Kotwali Dehat police station limits, went missing on September 29 after he went out around 8 pm to attend nature’s calls, the police said.

Based on his family’s complaint, the police had then registered a missing case, they added.

On Tuesday, his body was recovered from a well in neighbouring Siwan village, according to the police.

The body was spotted by some farmers who had gone near the well in the morning. They noticed foul smell emanating from the well and peeped in to find a body, and informed the police.

When a police team took out the body, it was found beheaded. The team then started looking for the head by draining out water from the well.

The severed head was finally recovered after after six hours of effort with the help of divers.

SHO Singh said necessary legal action was initiated after the identification of the body.

Meanwhile, the father of the victim, who was an electrician, has alleged that his son was murdered after which his body was dumped into the well.

Upset with her daughter’s love affair, Alka Devi, 42, hired a hitman to kill her daughter but ended up being murdered by him. In a shocking turn of events, Subhash, the hitman, turned out to be the daughter’s lover. In exchange for a marriage proposal, he murdered the woman. The incident came to light on October 6, when Alka’s body was found in a millet field under Jasrathpur police station of Etah district, Uttar Pradesh.

Last week, on October 5, Alka Devi had gone to Etah to plead a case. When she didn’t return till late evening, Ramakant, her husband tried calling on her mobile but it was switched off. He looked around for his partner but all in vain until Sunday evening, when he got a call from the police, asking to identify a dead body.

Following identification, Alka’s body was sent for a postmortem and the widower Ramakant registered a case against two men – Akhilesh and Aniket – from his village, in Jasrathpur police station.

Reportedly, the duo is also accused of luring and kidnapping Alka’s daughter. Akhilesh was put behind bars by Naya Gaon police while the minor girl was safely rescued and sent to her family.

Alka Devi, probably scarred by the incident, sent her daughter to her maternal home in Sikandarpur Khas village of Farrukhabad district.

There the minor girl developed a relationship with 38-year-old Subhash, who, in the past, has served 10 years in jail. Subhash got her a mobile phone to talk.

Alka was tired and upset with her daughter’s love affair. That’s when she decided to get her killed. She offered Subhash Rs. 50,000 to execute the murder. Little did she know Subhash was the man her daughter was having an affair with.

Subhash disclosed the plan to the girl. Quick-witted, the girl offered to marry him if he killed the mother instead. Together, they strategised and staged pictures of the murder, fooling Alka. But when Alka didn’t pay the promised sum of Rs. 50,000, Subhash called her to Agra and visited her along with her daughter.

The trio travelled to Etah from Agra and went to Ramleela fair. From there, they got down before Aliganj and took Alka to Nagla Chandan where she was killed. The woman was strangled, according to the police. The daughter and her lover have been arrested.

Kushinagar, UP:

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving vehicle in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar earlier this month, police said. Three men, all neighbours of the victim, were arrested on Monday.

According to the police, the incident took place on September 9 when the accused called the minor girl to clean a cow shelter. The victim wrote in her police complaint that the accused threatened her with a knife and took her to a shanty before forcing himself upon her.

Later, two of his associates reached the spot, kidnapped her, and took turns to rape her in a moving vehicle. The three accused then dumped her outside the cow shelter. The girl, after regaining consciousness, managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her parents. 

She claimed in her complaint that Kaptanganj police station did not register an FIR initially. An official complaint was registered only after the victim and her family reached out to senior officers for help.

“A case has been registered in the case under relevant sections and three accused have been arrested and sent to jail. Advance legal action is being taken,” the Kushinagar district police said in a statement.
