The truck was coming from the opposite direction.

A 35-year-old man fell to death from the roof of a building in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Monday. The incident took place when the victim, Farid, lost his balance while throwing a cardboard.

The disturbing incident was captured on CCTV – which shows a man wearing a blue jacket standing in a small alley near the building. A bundle of cardboard first fell on the floor. Within seconds, the victim fell. The man can be seen trying to save Farid, but he fails to do so.

The victim was rushed to a hospital nearby where he died, officials said.

He was a scrap dealer in the area.

In another incident last week in UP, a man, his daughter and his niece were burnt to death after a high-tension electric cable fell on them in Gorakhpur. the incident was caught on CCTV which showed the man and the two girls on a bike and taking a left close to a garbage dump. They came in contact with an 11,000 Volt high tension wire and were electrocuted. Within seconds, the bike caught fire and the man and the two children were burned to death and no one could rescue them.

The trio died on the spot, officials said.

A 86-year-old woman and her son died and a boy was severely wounded when a mud wall collapsed on them here on Friday, police said.

The incident happened in the Ajuwa locality under the Saini Police Station’s jurisdiction.

Saini Station House Officer Brijesh Karwaria said Sharif, 56, was sleeping in a thatched mud-wall house with his mother, Shakeela Bano, and his 12-year-old son Shah Mohammad when a wall collapsed on them.

By the time locals pulled them out, Shakeela Bano and Sharif were already dead.

A calf tied nearby also perished in the collapse.

Shah Mohammad was taken to the district hospital, while the bodies of the two who died were sent for postmortem, Karwaria said.

A horse died after a speeding car rammed the cart on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat. The incident took place around 9 am today and at least six people were injured.

The accident was captured on CCTV, showing the car, speeding on the left lane of the highway. Meanwhile, a horsebuggy is approaching the highway from the left. 

As the animal approached the highway, the car rammed the horse, tossing it several feet away. The horse died in the accident.

The vehicle’s bonnet and bumper were crushed and the car skidded off the road before crashing into a truck several metres away.

The occupants of the cart were injured and are being treated. No police case has been filed yet in the incident.

Mathura, UP:

Three people were killed and two others were injured when their car collided with a truck on Monday, police said.

The victims were identified as Pankaj Verma, Bhavesh and Rohit, police said.

According to police, the five victims were coming to Varanasi and proceeding to Delhi. Their car rammed into a truck ahead of them, killing three of them on the spot and injuring two.

The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital, SP rural Trigun Bishen said.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, police added.

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh):

At least 11 people died and 10 were injured after a truck turned turtle on top of a bus carrying devotees to Uttarakhand on Saturday late at night, said police.

According to the police the incident happened under Khutar police station in Shahjahanpur district when a truck loaded with ballast stones hit the parked bus at a roadside dhaba and overturned on it, crushing the devotees to death.

All the devotees traveling in the bus were residents of Jetha village located in the Kamlapur police station area of Sitapur district.

Ashok Kumar Meena, SP, Shahjahanpur said, “Around 11 pm, we got the information that in the Khutar PS area, a bus was parked, devotees who were going to Purnagiri were sitting inside the bus and some devotees were having food at a Dhaba. A truck lost control and turned turtle on top of the bus… A total of 11 people died and 10 were injured. All injured have been admitted to hospitals…”.

Sambhal:

Three people were killed and 17 others injured after their tractor-trolley collided with a container truck on the Sambhal-Hasanpur road here in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

The accident occurred on Sunday night near Deep Pur Tanda, which falls under the area of the Rajpura police station, they said.

The victims were returning from a funeral, police said.

Ghasi Ram, 60, Mahipal, 55, Gumani, 40, were killed in the accident, they said and added that the 17 injured people were hospitalised.

The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident, police said.

District Magistrate Manish Bansal said the accident had took place around 11 pm on Sunday.

The victims were residents of Lakhanpur village and were returning from Anupshahr in Bulandshahr district after attending a funeral, Mr Bansal said.

Amethi:

Two labourers were killed and 16 others injured when a four-wheeler hit a truck from behind near Utelwa here on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway early on Wednesday morning, police said.

The vehicle carrying 18 labourers, who worked in a bread factory in Varanasi, was on its way to Lucknow when the incident occurred around 4 am, SHO of the Kamrauli Police Station Abhinesh Kumar said.

It is suspected that the driver of the vehicle was sleepy when it hit the truck from behind, the police officer said.

While Manoj Kumar and Ram Kishore, both aged 30 and residents of Sitapur died on the spot, the injured, including eight whose condition is stated to be critical, are undergoing treatment at a hospital, the SHO said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, the officer added.
