As many as 59,951 students have been given provisional allotments in the second round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026, even as choice filling for the third round was enabled on Monday (August 17, 2026).

With this, the total number of provisional allotments given to students, including special categories and horizontal reservations for the two rounds together, went up to 88,930, according to a press release issued by the TNEA committee.

In the 7.5% horizontal reservation category (government school students), as many as 9,967 students were given provisional allotments while in the general category, 49,984 got allotments.

Students who secured provisional allotment through upward movement may join their respective colleges on or before August 27. The fees paid by them and the certificates surrendered at the TNEA Facilitation Centres would be sent to the respective colleges, the release stated.

Meanwhile, choice filling for the third round will be enabled till 5 p.m. of August 19. There are a total of 1,02,719 candidates eligible for this round. In the general category, students with rank between 131094 and 233812 who secured cut-off marks between 135.5 and 77.5, can take part in the round. Similarly, horizontal reservation category students with ranks between 18037 and 46080 who secured cut-off marks between 135.5 and 77.5 are eligible.

The list of selected candidates for round two may be accessed on the website tneaonline.org.

The TNEA authorities have also opened up registration for supplementary counselling. This would facilitate students who have passed through supplementary examinations and those who have missed the counselling process. Interested candidates may apply between August 17 and August 31, the release added.
