Pakistani security forces have killed at least 17 suspected terrorists following a bomb attack on a shuttle train in Quetta city of the restive Balochistan province last week.

At least 16 people, including three security personnel, were killed and scores injured in the suspected vehicle-borne suicide attack on a shuttle train near a station in Quetta on May 24.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Military, after the incident, security forces conducted multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across various districts of Balochistan, killing 17 terrorists.

According to the ISPR statement, security forces effectively targeted several terrorist hideouts during operations conducted in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Kech.

It said that in a heavy exchange of fire with terrorists belonging to the Fitna-al-Hindostan, 17 of them were killed.

The ISPR also said that security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, a large quantity of explosives, and prepared Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the terrorists.

Pakistani security forces have killed four terrorists in the Kalat district of the Balochistan province.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were killed during a raid on their suspected hideout in the Kalat district.

Last week, the ISPR claimed that security forces have killed at least 17 terrorists in three separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan in the Kalat, Kohlu and Panjgur areas.

Meanwhile, in a report released by the Islamabad-based Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), 2025 turned out to be the deadliest year for terrorists in Pakistan, with 2,115 casualties in the year.

The report said 664 security personnel also lost their lives, while 580 civilians fell victim to terror attacks.

It said the year saw an escalation in violence in both “tempo and lethality”, pushing several security indicators to their highest levels in years.

Pakistani security forces have killed at least 13 terrorists belonging to outlawed insurgent groups in different intelligence-based operations in the troubled Balochistan province, the ISPR said Saturday (December 27, 2025).

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, these terrorists were killed in two operations conducted on December 24 and 25 in the Kohlu and Kalat areas of the province. In two statements, the ISPR said the intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted on the reported presence of terrorists in the respective areas.

In the IBO in Kohlu on Thursday (December 25, 2025), the ISPR said it killed five terrorists after a heavy exchange of fire with them.

In another operation on Wednesday (December 24, 2025), security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and, after an intense exchange of fire, killed eight of them in Kalat.

“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terror activities in the area,” the statement said.

Earlier this month, 12 terrorists were killed in Kalat by security forces.

The statement said security forces and law enforcement agencies are constantly conducting operations to eliminate terrorists under its “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign.
