The Somangalam police arrested two persons who threw a petrol bomb in a house in Varadarajapuram on Saturday night. 

The Tambaram police said a couple, Dinesh and Divya, were residing in MGR Street of Varadarajapuram. Recently, the couple had vacated the rental property and relocated to Tambaram. On Saturday night, the residents of the street were shocked to see two unidentified individuals arriving on a two-wheeler and hurling petrol bomb inside the house.

The fire damaged the wooden door and cot. Based on an alert, the Somangalam Police filed a case and arrested Charles, 24, and Rajkumar, 23, Divya’s relatives.

During interrogation, the police found that both Charles and Rajkumar were married to Divya’s younger sisters, Mahalakshmi and Sandhya, and had a grudge against Divya. Not knowing that Divya had vacated and shifted the house, they threw a petrol bomb in the vacant house, police said.
