SEIL Energy India Limited, a Nellore-based independent power producer, has laid the foundation stone for the Inclusive Sports Academy (ISA) at the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) in Nellore on Tuesday (May 19, 2026). Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the company is contributing ₹4.5 crore to build the sports facility for differently-abled persons.

SEIL Energy Chairman Tareq Mohamed Sultan Al Mugheiry, Director Cyrus Erach Cooper, CEO Janmejaya Mahapatra, National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) Director B.V. Ram Kumar and CRC Director S.P. Manoj Kumar were present at the Bhoomi Puja ceremony.

Mr. Mahapatra said, “Through this sports academy, we hope to create a dedicated platform for Divyangjan to build confidence, pursue excellence in sports, and participate with dignity at district, state, and national levels.”

“This initiative reflects our continued commitment to meaningful nation-building and community empowerment,” he said. The Inclusive Sports Academy is envisaged as an enclosed all-weather indoor sports stadium designed to host multiple sporting disciplines for persons with physical and intellectual disabilities at the district, State and national levels.

The 15,000 sq. ft. inner stadium will accommodate sports such as badminton, table tennis, team handball, powerlifting, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, floorball, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and others. It will have a seating capacity of 300, separate changing rooms and toilets for boys, girls and officials, and power backup.
