New Delhi:

A Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed a criminal defamation complaint against AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj, citing delay in filing the case.

Additional chief judicial magistrate Neha Mittal dismissed the complaint filed by BJP’s Suraj Bhan Chauhan, saying the alleged offence of defamation took place in September 2018, and observed the limitation period for filing the present complaint was three years.

The judge said none of the grounds pleaded by the complainant to seek condonation of delay were found to be justifiable.

“This court is of the opinion that the complainant is not entitled to the condonation of delay in filing the present complaint. Accordingly, the present application is dismissed,” held the court.

Mr Chauhan alleged Mr Bhardwaj defamed him in 2018 by falsely claiming at a press conference that an FIR was lodged against him.

Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj is now a YouTuber. After his loss in the 2025 Delhi Assembly election, the AAP leader has launched a YouTube channel, “Berozgar Neta”, which means “unemployed politician”.

Mr Bharadwaj, who lost the Greater Kailash seat to BJP’s Shikha Roy, will use the platform to interact with people daily. In his first video, he shared how the election result “flipped his life by 180 degrees” and made him an “unemployed leader.”

On Wednesday, he shared a video and mentioned that the goal of this channel was to communicate directly with the public and answer their queries in an “open and transparent” manner.

In the 58-second-long clip, he said, “The Delhi results announced on February 8 have changed many lives, and the situation has changed 180 degrees for people like us. It can be said that leaders like us have become unemployed.”

“People are reaching out to me with messages and calls. I want to share how things change in the life of a politician after an election loss. I will also try to respond to your questions. So please join my platform,” he added.

The 45-year-old engineer-turned-politician also announced his YouTube innings on X, writing, “From tomorrow I am coming among you on a new platform! Now you can also join me on YouTube, where we will discuss a new topic every day. Also, you can share your suggestions. See you tomorrow on a new journey with our first video!”

The former legislator will discuss a new topic every day and has invited viewers to share their suggestions and participate in the discussions. So far, the channel has approximately 52,000 subscribers.

Mr Bharadwaj, a three-time MLA from Greater Kailash, held various portfolios in the Delhi government, including home, health, water, industries, transport and power, among others. He lost in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections to Shikha Roy by over 3,000 votes.

Mr Bhardwaj was among the popular AAP leaders, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who lost the elections this year.

The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats, ending AAP’s rule in Delhi and forming the government after 27 years. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party managed to win 22 seats.

Centre is leaving no stone unturned to frame Arvind Kejriwal in a fake case, Saurabh Bhardwaj said

New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday alleged that the Centre wants to send Arvind Kejriwal to jail and finish off the party after the Enforcement Directorate, or ED, summoned the Delhi Chief Minister for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.

AAP leader and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that it is clear from the ED notice to the Delhi Chief Minister that the BJP-led central government’s “only aim” is to finish the AAP.

“For this, they are leaving no stone unturned to frame Arvind Kejriwal in a fake case, send him to jail, and finish the Aam Aadmi Party,” Mr Bhardwaj charged.

The ED has summoned Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on November 2.

Mr Kejriwal, 55, has been issued the summons under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and according to the sources, the agency will record his statement once he deposes before the investigating officer of the case in Delhi.

G20 Summit is a “big moment” for the country, Saurabh Bhardwaj said. (File)

New Delhi:

Ambulances will be positioned at strategic locations in Delhi for the G20 Summit, Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Monday. The G20 Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to be held on September 9-10.

The summit is likely to be attended by more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations.

Five government hospitals and three private medical facilities in the national capital have been put on “high alert” in view of the summit, Bharadwaj said on August 30.

On Monday, he told PTI, “No fund has come from the Centre. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed that Delhi government funds be spent. We have no problem with it because it is a matter that concerns the country.”

The Delhi government has readied five of its hospitals, rooms and beds have been earmarked for emergency, and doctors and paramedical staff will be deployed round-the-clock at hotels where the delegates will stay.

Ambulances will accompany the carcades and also be positioned at strategic locations, Mr Bharadwaj said as he called the summit a “big moment” for the country.

“In Delhi, we have the central government and a city government. Both want to together show good work so that the visiting guests remember Delhi, its people and the Delhi government and the central government,” he told reporters.

The health department has formed 80 teams of doctors and nursing staff to serve the guests at the hotels. Of these, 75 teams will work in shifts, officials have said.

Mr Bharadwaj recently convened a meeting at the Delhi Secretariat to take stock of healthcare arrangements for the summit.

“In light of the G20 Summit, the Delhi government has placed five major government hospitals and three private hospitals on high alert to ensure the health care arrangements are in place. These include primarily Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, GTB Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital, along with private facilities Primus Hospital Chanakyapuri, Max Hospital Saket and Manipal Hospital Dwarka,” he had said.

Lok Nayak Hospital has reserved 20 rooms, GB Pant Hospital 10 rooms, GTB Hospital 20 beds, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital 65 beds, and Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital 40 beds to address any situation that may arise during the summit, Bharadwaj was quoted as saying in a health department statement earlier.
