After gangster Rohit Godara, an associate of Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for a crude bomb blast outside a club in Sector 29 here earlier this week, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said there is no place for criminals in the state.

Police have already arrested one accused from the spot, and none of those responsible for the attack will be spared, the chief minister said.

Talking to mediapersons here after chairing a district public relations and grievance committee meeting, Mr Saini also said that if anyone plays with law and order, he will either land in hospital or be lodged behind bars.

At the meeting, the chief minister issued strict directions to the concerned officials to ensure cleanliness in the district to make Gurugram beautiful, saying he will examine the steps taken on this count during next month’s meeting.

A total of 23 grievances were tabled before the chief minister at the meeting. While 19 of them were resolved on the spot, Mr Saini directed the concerned officials to submit status reports of the remaining complaints at the earliest.

Taking cognisance of a complaint alleging illegal encroachment on government land at Sarai Alawardi village, the chief minister directed the municipal officials to immediately remove all illegal structures from the said land.

A community hall should be constructed on the land to provide better facilities for public events, Mr Saini said.

Hearing a case related to providing 100 square yard plots at Jatola village, Mr Saini directed the officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries benefit from the government scheme.

On the question of urban local body elections in Haryana, the chief minister said the government is ready for the polls which will be held soon.

The gym owner who was shot dead in South Delhi’s upscale Greater Kailash area on Thursday night had come in the crosshairs of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang because he had asked his business partner not to pay Rs 5 crore that the outfit had tried to extort from him, sources have told NDTV. 

Nadir Shah, who is of Afghan origin, was allegedly also friends with two South Delhi gangsters. This friendship was used by the Bishnoi gang to tap the enemies of the gangsters, who, in turn, roped in people who had been threatened by Shah earlier, building a complex web before finally carrying out the murder. 

Shah was shot dead on a busy road in Greater Kailash-1. A video of the shooting showed him standing and talking to one of his associates near some parked cars when a man in a checked shirt walked up to them and began firing. Shah’s associate managed to duck but the gym owner was shot six to eight times and was declared dead at a hospital.

While the shooter is on the run, four people have been arrested so far and their interrogation and the police’s investigation have revealed that Shah was a business partner of a man called Kunal Chhabra, who runs several illegal call centres in Delhi. Some time ago, members of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had tried to extort Rs 5 crore from Chhabra, but Shah had told him not to pay, saying he would protect him because he had friends in high places. 

Sources said this made Shah a target for the Bishnoi gang and he also spoke to Lawrence Bishnoi to negotiate a settlement, but was turned down. Around this time, Bishnoi was taken into police custody and allegedly tortured and he held Shah responsible for that. He allegedly declared in front of police officials that he would now take not five but Rs 10 crore from Shah and Chhabra.

Shah was friends with South Delhi gangsters Ravi Gangwal and Rohit Chaudhary, who were enemies of Hashim Baba, a North East Delhi gangster. Sources said Rohit Godara, a key member of the Bishnoi gang – who has claimed responsibility for Shah’s murder – used this enmity to rope in Hashim Baba in his plan to kill Shah. 

Hashim Baba brought in Randeep, a gangster from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, who is currently in the US. Randeep allegedly brought in a few men from Azamgarh to kill Shah. 

Widening the conspiracy, Hashim Baba, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, also roped in his jailmate Sameer Baba, a gangster who was once threatened by Shah. 

The shooting was finally carried out by Hashim Baba and Randeep’s shooters and of the four men who have been arrested by the police so far, three – Nilesh Tiwari, Vishal Verma and Akash Yadav – are from Azamgarh, while Naveen Baliyan is from Sonipat in Haryana. 

Shah’s business partner, Chhabra, is in Dubai and has a non-bailable warrant against him in Delhi. Shah also owned a business in Dubai and had several criminal cases against him.

Mumbai:

 The Mumbai crime branch has registered a case against gangster Rohit Godara in connection with the firing at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence last month.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has also named gangster Godara as an accused in the case.

The firing incident took place on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in the Bandra area of Mumbai. The subsequent arrests revealed connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, leading the Mumbai Police to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all involved in the shooting.

“Mumbai Crime Branch has so far arrested six accused in the Salman Khan firing case and four accused are absconding and the search is on,” it said.

The sixth accused, identified as Harpal Singh (37), was arrested from Haryana’s Fatehabad on Monday evening. He will be presented in the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court of Mumbai.

As per the police officials, Harpal Singh’s information surfaced during the interrogation of another accused Mohammed Rafique Choudhary. He had financed Choudhary to conduct a recce around Salman’s residence.

Earlier, police said that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Vishnoi, played a key role in motivating the shooters. After receiving weapons delivery in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided the shooters with the target’s information, instructing them to carry out the firing at the actor’s residence.

The planned firing incident was executed as per instructions, during which the shooters received a total of Rs 3 lakh.

In a daring, bone-chilling murder caught on camera, a scrap trader from Gurugram was killed after being shot multiple times by three men in front of his mother, wife and two little children. The mother, who tried to intervene and prevent the men from shooting her son, also suffered a bullet injury to the leg.

The responsibility for the murder, which took place in Haryana’s Rohtak, has been claimed by Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who alleged in a video that the man who had been shot was a bookie and associated with their rivals, the Kaushal Chaudhary-Amit Dagar gang. 

Officials said the alleged murderers had escaped from a reform home in Jaipur and were paid to kill the businessman. They were arrested from near the Nepal border, while trying to flee, on Wednesday night.

Murder Footage

The scrap trader, identified as Sachin, was headed to Punjab’s Sangrur with his mother, wife and children to attend a wedding. The family stopped at a restaurant in Rohtak’s Lakhan Majra on the evening of February 29.

CCTV footage shows Sachin walking out of the restaurant to his SUV and, as he nears it, his wife and one of his children enter the frame. A white car that had been waiting by the roadside drives towards the SUV and Sachin’s unsuspecting wife asks her child to move out of the way. As the car stops near the SUV, the man’s mother and the other child, a toddler, also come into view.

The wife can be heard shouting, “Look, they are looting him”. Two of the men then open fire at Sachin, who was in the driver’s seat. While the wife takes the children to safety, the mother runs towards Sachin and the people shooting him. 

After firing a few rounds, the men head towards their car before coming back to the passenger’s side of the SUV and opening fire again, pushing away Sachin’s mother, who was trying to save him. 

Even as the mother keeps lamenting, “my child has been killed”, the men collect something from the SUV and leave in the waiting car. 

In her complaint to the police, the mother, who suffered a bullet injury herself, said Sachin died on the spot. She said the attackers also took away his cellphone.

Gangster’s Video

In a video that is now going viral, a man claiming to be gangster Rohit Godara, who had also taken responsibility for killing Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in Jaipur in December, can be heard saying, “I am Rohit Godara Goldy Brar (a reference to another Lawrence Bishnoi gang member). The bookie (Sachin Goda) of Gurugram, who considered himself the biggest bookie of Delhi has been killed in Lakhan Majra, Haryana.”

“We take full responsibility for this. He was a partner of our enemies Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar,” the gangster said.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had made national headlines after it had claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. It is also said to have links with Khalistani outfits. 

‘Scrap And Property Dealer’

Sachin’s younger brother, Amit, said he was a scrap businessman. “My mother was also shot in the leg. My brother was shot 10-15 times. He was a scrap dealer and property dealer.”

Asked about Rohit Godara claiming Sachin was a bookie, Amit said, “I don’t have knowledge of any such thing. We want justice.”

A childhood friend, Deepak, said Sachin had received threats recently. “He was not linked to any gang, he was a scrap and property dealer. Three to four years ago, his partner was also killed after extortion attempts,” Deepak said. 

A police official said the gang war angle is also being investigated.
