A man and a woman were arrested on charges related to the murder of a 32-year-old Cuban man in a small village in northern Spain. A dramatic twist in the case was found when Google Street View took a picture that became the only clue the investigators needed.

The victim, identified as Jorge Luis Perez, was allegedly killed in the village of Andaluz, where part of his dismembered body was later discovered buried. Authorities suspect the arrested individuals are a Cuban man seen on camera and his ex-wife, who was also once married to the victim.

The male suspect resides in the nearby village of Tajueco, which locals describe as a quiet place where “nothing ever happens,” according to El Pais. The arrests have sent shockwaves through the region, raising questions about the role of technology in solving crimes.

Police continue to investigate the chilling case as the rural community grapples with the tragic revelations.

A spokesman for Spanish National Police told The Metro: “National Police officers have detained two people allegedly involved in the disappearance and death of a man who was reported missing in November last year by a relative. That relative had grown suspicious about messages he had received purporting to be from the missing man.”

“Part of the victim’s remains have been found buried in a cemetery in Andaluz in Soria using ‘advanced techniques. One of the clues investigators were working with was images from an online search location application.”

They added: “The messages the missing man’s family received said he met a girl and was getting rid of his telephone. This made the relative suspect someone else was sending the messages and that led to him alerting police.”

Police tracked three men in Gujarat and arrested them. (Representational)

New Delhi:

Delhi Police has arrested three men for allegedly cheating a person of around Rs 10 lakh by promising him photocopy paper at cheap rates, an officer on Tuesday said.

The frauds used bank accounts registered in Surat, Gujarat, from people unaware their accounts were being used for illegal proceeds.

On September 14, one Mohammad Faizan Ansari approached police alleging he was cheated of around Rs 9.96 lakh by an e-commerce firm.

Ansari told police he was browsing the internet looking for photocopy paper when he found a company which offered it at a very cheap rate, an officer said.

“He showed interest in purchasing 8,000 rims of photocopy papers worth Rs 4.10 lakh and transferred Rs 9.96 lakh in total cost which included shipping charges, container deposit charge, GST and other payments,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Rakesh Paweriya said.

“But no photocopy paper was delivered,” he added.

During the investigation, it was found that the money was credited to a nationalised bank in Gujarat.

Police tracked three men — Anees Anwar Bhai Gohil, 26, Mobin Javed Ansari, 31, and 33-year-old Paras Jeetender Patel — in Surat and arrested them.

Five mobile phones with nine SIM cards and four ATM cards were seized from their possession, the officer said.

The mother blocked the father from reaching them.

After a fight with her husband, a woman in central China allegedly disturbed him by placing her two small children on an air conditioner outside their 23rd-floor apartment, according to the South China Morning Post.

On October 10, neighbours in Luoyang, Henan province, heard the children’s cries and recorded the event for posterity in a viral video. The children were not wearing any safety gear; therefore, the mother prevented the father from getting to them. The daughter was crying, while her brother seemed more composed. It’s unknown what caused the couple’s fight. A nearby resident reported the incident to the police.

“The firefighting vehicle came and the children were rescued,” an official at the local Women and Children’s Federation said, adding that they were looking into the case.

According to SCMP, the police are also investigating the incident. It was not disclosed whether the mother would receive punishment. The video clip, viewed 55 million times on Weibo alone, received a huge response in China.

“A mother should protect her children. But she put her children in dire danger. She is not fit to be a mother,” one online observer said.

“If an accident happens, she will regret it more than anyone else. Why adopt such an extreme measure? Calm down. If you cannot live with him any longer, just divorce him,” another person wrote.

“This woman is insane and horrible! She should receive serious judicial punishment,” said another.
