The department of neurosurgery at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) organised the Founder Chancellor Sri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar Endowment Oration in Neurosciences on Tuesday.

Anil Nanda, professor of neurosurgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, delivered the oration titled ‘Medicine and Neurosurgery through the Prism of Apoorva Chintamani’.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nanda stressed the importance of recognising complications arising from medical treatments and surgeries and urged young neurosurgeons to combine historical understanding with modern advances in patient care. He also highlighted the need to question established dogmas and continuously refine technical skills.

K. Sridhar, president, Neurological Society of India, and neurosurgeons from across the country attended the event. SRIHER Vice-Chancellor Uma Sekar and other faculty members were also present.
