A local court in Pithapuram on Wednesday convicted a 36-year-old man in connection with the 2025 murder case and awarded a life sentence to him.

On July 12, 2025, the accused, Gosala John had beaten to death his grandmother, Benugu Deenamma, after she rejected his appeal for money in their house at Narsipeta village in Kakinada district, Peddapuram Deputy Superintendent of Police A.B.G. Tilak stated in a release. 

Gosala Padma, the mother of the convict, registered a complaint and based on it, the police registered a case against John.
