OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Shakib Al Hasan fights back to get rid of the Indian skipper!

3.3 overs (4 Runs)
FOUR! Nicely done! Lands it on a nagging length, on the off pole, Rohit Sharma lets the ball come to him and glides it wide of short third with an open bat face for a boundary.

3.2 overs (0 Run)
Compensates by dragging the length back and it skids off the deck, outside the line of leg, Rohit Sharma rocks back for the pull but gets beaten on the inside edge and wears it on the back thigh.

3.1 overs (6 Runs)
SIX! Excellent use of the feet and this has gone many a mile! Shakib Al Hasan floats it up, full and on middle and leg, Rohit Sharma puts the dancing shoes on and gets to the pitch of the ball. Launches it way over long on for a biggie.

2.6 overs (0 Run)

1.1 overs (1 Run)

0.6 over (4 Runs)

0.1 over (2 Runs)
Rohit Sharma takes the aerial route straightaway! Tosses it up does Mahedi Hasan, full and on off, Rohit Sharma presses forward and lofts it with a straight bat over mid off for a couple of runs. India are up and running!

Done with the pre-match formalities and now it’s time for the action to begin! It’s a pleasant day at North Sound, Antigua, with the sun shining to its glory along with a good breeze around as well. The two Umpires make their way out to the middle. Out stride the two vastly experienced openers of India, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with the former taking the guard, and will face spin first up. Mahedi Hasan will get the proceedings underway with the ball for Bangladesh. The countdown finishes, and here we go…

We are just a few moments away from this clash to commence at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. But before that, the two sets of players line up for their respective national anthems followed by the match officials. It will be Bangladesh’s first, followed by the national anthem of India.

Ravindra Jadeja is in for a chat. He says that he is loving his time here in the Caribbean. Adds that pitches in New York suited the bowlers, but the conditions here in West Indies allow batters to get themselves in and score runs. Feels that they need to bowl while keeping in mind the wind factor and choose ends accordingly. Tells that in T20 cricket, small cameos play a big part and he tries to use his experience in the middle. Further says that he is not worried about his form and if he can score at a good strike rate, it is going to help the team.

The captain of India, Rohit Sharma says that they were looking to bat first, so they got what they wanted. Adds that they now need to put up a good show with the bat. Reckons that it looks like a good wicket but it all depends on how much the sun beats and slows the surface down. Feels that it is important to assess as quickly as possible, which they have done well so far. Informs that they are playing the same team as the last game. Tells that it is important to turn up well for every game and not worry about what lies ahead.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, the skipper of Bangladesh elects to bowl first and says they plan to restrict the opposition to a low total. Says it is a good opportunity for them and they have played some good cricket and also aim to continue with the form. He adds that they know the conditions well and says it’s a good wicket. Also adds that wind will be a factor and feels 150-160 would be a good total. Informs that they have one change with Jaker Ali coming in for Taskin Ahmed.

Bangladesh (Playing XI) – Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das (WK), Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali (In for Taskin Ahmed), Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman.

India (Unchanged Playing XI) – Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah.

TOSS – The flip of the coin lands in the favour of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Bangladesh have opted to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT – Sunil Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle are at the 22 yards. Harsha Bhogle begins and says it is a bit warm out there but a very strong breeze is blowing across the ground which will help the ball to sail away if hit with the wind. Mentions the dimensions by saying it is 61 meters and 67 meters at the square. Sunil Gavaskar joins him and says this looks like a pretty good track to bat on and the batters will enjoy playing their strokes. Also adds that wrist spinners will get more help as compared to the finger spinners and reckons it is a 180 kind of surface. Ends up by saying the captain winning the toss must bowl first.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, face a quick turnaround after losing to Australia in their Super 8 campaign opener. Tanzim Hasan Sakib has led the charge in the pace department while leggie Rishad Hossain has also delivered the goods with the ball. In terms of batting, Towhid Hridoy has been the shining light, but a collective effort will be crucial to their chances in this clash. Having played in Antigua before, Najmul Hossain Shanto and his men will have a fair idea of the conditions. Can Bangladesh spring a surprise? Or will the Indian juggernaut continue to roll on? Let’s find out. Toss and team news coming up in a bit.

India, along with South Africa and Australia, are unbeaten so far and look poised to progress to the semi-finals. Although Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not performed up to expectations, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant have put their hands up at crucial junctures in the competition. On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah has been at the top of his game, supported superbly by the rest of the attack in what has been a dominant bowling performance from the Men in Blue so far. All in all, India look like a well-oiled unit and seem to have the right balance to perform in the Caribbean conditions.

Hello and welcome everyone! We are here in Antigua at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium for another exciting all-Asian clash in Group 1 as Bangladesh and India go head-to-head. Fresh from their victory over Afghanistan, India will be looking to move closer to the semi-finals with another win, while a loss for Bangladesh could push them to the brink of elimination. Although Bangladesh have come close to beating India in the past, they are yet to do so in their four previous meetings in Men’s T20 World Cups. With their tournament lives on the line, they will need to rewrite history here in Antigua.

Drinks break! India have just brought their batting form from the last few games and skipper Rohit Sharma was at his destructive best early on. Since his departure, both Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli have got a move along and are scoring well over a-run-a-ball. Bangladesh need wickets and they need them quickly as well because once the runs come down to double digits, it will be very difficult to pile any pressure on the hosts. Bangladesh found it a bit hard initially against the Indian pacers but their openers did not throw their wickets away and once their eyes were set started the counter-attack. They targeted Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur and racked up some beautiful boundaries. Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan created a bit of history as they added 93 runs together which is also the highest opening partnership for Bangladesh in ODI World Cups. Tanzid finally showed why he was backed and made a fine fifty but got out just after reaching it. Das lost a couple of partners and then decided to change gears, it worked for him as he brought up his second half-century of the tournament but got out on 66 going for a big one as well. Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy steadied the ship for them after that but the latter struggled throughout and caved under pressure as he made 16 off 35 balls which cost him side a lot of deliveries. Rahim departed after a well-made 38 but the experience of Mahmudullah came in handy as he provided the finishing touches with a decent knock of 46 off just 36 balls and a few lusty blows from Nasum Ahmed and cracking six of the last ball from Fizz helped them get to a competitive total.

Another good bowling performance from India! They would have hoped to finish even better but will be pleased with the overall effort. Bangladesh will be kicking themselves for not fully capitalising on the start given by their openers and has to settle for 256 runs.

49.6 overs (6 Runs) SIX! Oh, that is some way to finish off the innings! Jasprit Bumrah bangs this one in a bit and pushes it outside off, trying to keep the ball away from the hitting arc. Shoriful Islam backs away and just frees his arms, slapping the ball up and over the cover-point fence for a biggie. Shoriful brings out a cheeky smile and Bangladesh end up with 256/8!

49.5 overs (0 Run) Back of a length and angled into the body, Shoriful Islam gets cramped for room but manages to block it out.

49.4 overs (1 Run) We have gone from cricket to tennis now! Mustafizur Rahman early to back away and Jasprit Bumrah angles in a bumper right at the helmet. Fizz brings out the forehand smash and gets it through extra cover for a single. The 250 is up for Bangladesh!

49.3 overs (1 Run) Full and outside off, in the blockshole once again. Shoriful Islam backs away and pushes it out to mid off for one.

Shoriful Islam comes out to the middle now.

49.2 overs (0 Run) OUT! TIMBER! Jasprit Bumrah with a trademark yorker and he gets the job done. Goes full and straight, at over 140 clicks and gets it right at the base of the middle stump. The ball swerves a bit in the air as Mahmudullah tries desperately to keep it out but the ball hits the toe and smashes into the stumps. End of a fighting knock by Mahmudullah and Bumrah gets his second wicket.

49.1 overs (0 Run) Very full, in the blockhole around off and angling in. Mahmudullah looks to jam it out but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Interestingly, Rohit Sharma has gone for the review for an LBW but the replays clearly show that there was a big inside edge. One taken more in hope more than anything else.

Jasprit Bumrah (9-1-33-1) to bowl the last over. Can he keep Bangladesh under 260? Let’s find out.

48.6 overs (0 Run) Full and on the stumps, Mustafizur Rahman hits it down to long on but stays where he is and Mahmudullah will keep strike for the final over.

48.5 overs (0 Run) Hard length on leg stump, cramping the batter for room. Mustafizur Rahman tries to back away but only manages to force it out to short extra cover.

48.4 overs (1 Run) Very full and wide, executed better by Siraj and Mahmudullah only manages to squeeze it away wide of third man for a single.

48.4 overs (1 Run) Wide! Full and wide outside off, sprayed beyond the tramline and Mahmudullah leaves it alone.

48.3 overs (6 Runs) SIX! What a strike! Mohammed Siraj misses his mark and serves it in the slot and around middle. Mahmudullah holds hi shape well and hoicks it over the long on fence for a biggie.

48.2 overs (0 Run) Eyeing up that leg side once again. Full and outside off, Mahmudullah walks across to slog it away but cue-ends it back to the bowler who makes a half-stop.

48.1 overs (2 Runs) Hard length well outside off, Mahmudullah is early to walk a long way across the off stump and lifts it high toward wide long off. The ball falls safely and Mahmudullah gets back on strike with a brace.

47.6 overs (0 Run) Ends with a bumper as this is bowled over the stumps and angled in. Mustafizur Rahman ducks under it.

47.5 overs (0 Run) Nails the yorker again, at 144.5 clicks and right on the leg peg. Mustafizur Rahman does manage to keep it out toward mid on but that’s top-tier bowling from Bumrah.

47.4 overs (0 Run) Comes from around the wicket and attacks the pads at 145 clicks with a length ball, angling in. Mustafizur Rahman does well to stay back and gets some bat on it.

47.3 overs (1 Run) Gets the yorker in this time, at 141.9 clicks and tailing in from outside off. Mahmudullah digs it out to extra cover for a single.

47.2 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Excellent placement! On a good length but well outside off, Mahmudullah stays put and lets the ball come on before opening the bat face and guiding it in between backward point and short third for a boundary. Crucial knock thus far from Mahmudullah here.

47.1 overs (0 Run) Slower one, full and outside off, just inside the tramline. Mahmudullah looks to drive but is beaten.

46.6 overs (0 Run) Short ball over the stumps again and getting a bit of oomph off the deck. Mustafizur Rahman stays inside the line and watches it sail through to the keeper.

Mustafizur Rahman walks out to bat now.

46.5 overs (0 Run) OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Mohammed Siraj sticks to his strength and gets his man eventually. Banged in short over middle and leg, with a bit of pace behind it as well. Nasum Ahmed stays deep and makes room, trying to go for the pull but only manages a thin edge through to the keeper and KL Rahul gobbles up the chance with ease.

46.4 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Finds the gap well! Takes pace off this time and bowls it on a shortish length outside off, Nasum Ahmed backs away and thumps it in between mid off and the cover region for a second boundary in the over.

46.3 overs (0 Run) Banged in shorter this time, over middle and leg and at almost 140 clicks. Nasum Ahmed once again looks to back away and take it on but misses.

46.2 overs (0 Run) Hard length over the leg stump, Nasum Ahmed backs away and looks to heave it over mid-wicket but only connects with thin air.

Slight halt! It seems like Mohammed Siraj has hurt his finger while trying to stop the ball. The physio is in to check on him now. He looks fine to continue..

46.1 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! That is a cracking shot! Overpitched on the stumps, Nasum Ahmed drills it back with venom and a bit uppishly as well. Mohammed Siraj tries to get two hands on it but the ball flicks the fingers of the left hand and races away down the ground for a boundary.

Mohammed Siraj (8-0-42-1) replaces Jasprit Bumrah.

45.6 overs (1 Run) Bowls the off-cutter now, on a good length and well outside off. Nasum Ahmed reaches out and manages to tap it in front of extra cover for a single.

45.5 overs (1 Run) Pitched up outside off, punched away off the front foot and through covers for a single.

45.4 overs (6 Runs) SIX! BANG! Mahmudullah laying into Shardul Thakur here. Banged into the pitch and over off stump, Mahmudullah gets on top of the bounce and pulls it flat, just over the mid-wicket fence and picks up a maximum. 13 off the over already!

45.3 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Poor delivery from Shardul Thakur as he bowls a half-volley down leg, Mahmudullah whips it away to the right of deep backward square leg for a boundary.

45.2 overs (2 Runs) Nicely played by Mahmudullah. Good length over middle, Mahmudullah hops back and tucks it away with soft hands toward the vacant mid-wicket region and picks up a couple of runs.

45.1 overs (1 Run) Swung away for one! Banged in short over leg stump, Nasum Ahmed backs away and pulls it down crisply to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Done with the pre-match formalities and it is now time to get the match started. The bell is rung by the President of the MCA to mark the beginning of play as the Indian team can be seen in a huddle before taking their places on the field. Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das are the openers for Bangladesh. Jasprit Bumrah has the brand-new ball in hand and is raring to go. A couple of slips in place, let’s play…

Just a few minutes left now for the contest to get underway but first, the two teams line up along with their mascots and the officials. It is time for the respective national anthems of the two teams to be played and first, it will be the national anthem of Bangladesh, followed by the Indian national anthem.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India says that they would have bowled first anyways. Adds that what they are doing is working for them and they do not want to change much. Tells that travelling from one place to another is a challenge but the team is in a good shape. Informs they are unchanged.

Bangladesh skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto says that they will bat first and says that it is a proud moment for him and his family to be captaining the national team. Mentions that the pitch and weather seem nice and they will look to put runs on the board. Adds that Shakib Al Hasan is out and it is a big blow but Nasum Ahmed comes in and he can do a good job. Adds that they have some good memories against India and hopes for a good match. Also says that he didn’t know they were playing against India for the first time in India after 25 years and ends by informing that apart from Shakib, Taskin Ahmed is also out and Hasan Mahmud replaces him.

India (Unchanged Playing XI) – Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

Bangladesh (Playing XI) – Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Mehidy Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (WK), Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah, Nasum Ahmed (In place of Shakib Al Hasan), Hasan Mahmud (In place of Taskin Ahmed), Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

TOSS – Bangladesh have won the toss and they elected to BAT first.

UPDATE – Big news coming from the Bangladesh camp as Shakib Al Hasan is not playing due to a quad injury. Najmul Hossain Shanto to lead the side.

PITCH REPORT – Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan are pitchside. Sanjay starts by saying that it is a good pitch and there are runs to be scored but the seamers won’t mind bowling first and reckons it won’t turn much. Irfan then adds that it is a definition of a true pitch where you can bat well and a good seamer can get good purchase as well. Adds that it is a hard pitch and a black soil pitch and it will be a high-scoring game. Also, he adds that the pacers might look to use the bouncer more rather than pitching it up but the lines have to be tight. Sanjay mentions that there won’t be any changes to the Indian side and Rohit Sharma himself might bowl if it turns rather than bringing in Ravichandran Ashwin due to the left-handers in the opposition. Irfan rounds off by saying that if anyone will get turn on this pitch, it will be Kuldeep Yadav.

Shubman Gill is down for a quick chat. Gill says that it is very important for him to stick to the basics and have a positive mindset. Adds that the World Cup experience has been great and to play his first game against Pakistan was unreal and hopes that they can keep the winning run going. On Rohit Sharma, he says that it doesn’t change the way he plays and Rohit is an aggressive player and plays the way he wants to play. On playing in Pune, he says that given it is a smallish ground, hopefully, they can get good runs on the board for their bowlers to defend. Mentions that it is about not losing early wickets and then being able to get those big runs in the middle overs.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have been inconsistent in this competition and will be desperate to get back to winning ways after two defeats. Their main issue is their top order and they will hope that Litton Das can find his form back and perform in this game while Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have always been the ones to take them out of difficult situations. Captain Shakib has a good record against India with both bat and ball and in Mehidy Hasan they now have another decent all-rounder. However, if they really want to challenge the hosts, they might have to do it without Shakib who is a doubt for this game and the pacers will need to step up their game. Let’s see who comes out on top. Toss and team news in a bit.

Rohit Sharma and his men have lived up to the favourites tag so far and will want to continue the momentum. The top order has fired well after a collapse in the first game and four batters have registered fifty-plus scores which also includes a ton from the skipper himself. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav have been brilliant and troubled the batters in all three games while Ravindra Jadeja has used his experience well too and they could prove to be the difference again in this match.

Hello and a warm welcome folks! After starting their World Cup campaign in fine fashion with three straight wins, the hosts, India, have their eyes set on Bangladesh to maintain the unbeaten run. However, a few of the recent results have gone in the way of the Bangla Tigers, 3 wins in the last 4 matches to be precise, giving them a big confidence boost and making this contest even more exciting to watch.
