Jaipur:

A three-year-old girl fell into a borewell in the Kotputli-Behror district of Rajasthan, and the NDRF and SDRF have been deployed to rescue her from the 150-feet-deep borewell, officials said.

The girl, Chetna, was playing on his father’s farm in the Sarund area when she accidentally slipped into the borewell, they said.

NDRF and SDRF teams have reached the spot in are trying to pull the girl out with the help of a hook attached to a rod, Sarund SHO Mohammad Imran said.

The girl’s movements were captured through a camera and an oxygen pipe was lowered into the borewell to supply oxygen.

“The girl is stuck at a depth of nearly 150 feet. Her movements are being monitored,” he said.

Earlier, Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore spoke to the officers and instructed them to ensure speedy rescue of the girl.

Two weeks ago, a five-year-old boy fell into a borewell in Dausa district. The rescue operation lasted over 55 hours but the boy could not be saved.

Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh:

A three-year-old girl died hours after she accidentally slipped into a borewell near a village in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday evening and was rushed to a hospital after being rescued, officials said.

Shoumya, daughter of one Pintu Sahu, fell into the borewell near Kasar village, located about 40km from the district headquarters, while playing in an agriculture field at around 5 pm, Bargawan police station inspector Shivpujan Mishra told PTI over phone from the spot.

The borewell was said to be more than 250-foot deep and the girl had got stuck at the depth of 25-foot, he stated.

Rescuers immediately launched an operation to pull out the girl and managed to bring her out after five-and-a-half hours of effort, informed the police officer.

The baby was taken to a hospital in critical condition, said District Chief Medical and Health Officer NK Jain.

However, after a thorough examination, she was declared dead, Mr Jain added.
