The Group G match between Uruguay and Cabo Verde is under way at the Miami stadium in Miami Gardens, on Sunday. 

Uruguay were held to a 1-1 draw in ‌their Group H World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia after ⁠Abdulelah Al Amri’s opener for the Gulf nation was cancelled out ‌by Maxi Araujo in a game where both sides ‌profited from goalkeeping errors.

Cabo Verde announced themselves on the World Cup stage with a stunning 0-0 draw against Spain, frustrating the European champions who dominated possession and had 27 goal attempts but could find no way past 40-year-old keeper Vozinha.

The FIFA World Cup began on June 10 and ends with the final on July 20.

The Group G match between Belgium and Iran is under way at the Los Angeles stadium in Inglewood, on Sunday. 

Romelu Lukaku forced Egypt into an own goal within seconds of entering the game and favored Belgium escaped with a 1-1 draw in the opening Group G match of the 2026 ‌World Cup at Seattle Stadium. Lukaku’s equalizer came just 28 seconds after entering the game in ⁠the 66th minute and prevented Egypt from winning their first game in their fourth World Cup appearance.

Iran opened its politically charged World Cup by playing to a 2-2 draw with New Zealand, overcoming two deficits and getting the final goal from Mohammad Mohebbi in the 64th minute.

The FIFA World Cup began on June 10 and ends with the final on July 20.
