Faridabad:

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three people and forced to undergo an abortion, police here said on Friday.

Three people have been arrested in the case, they said.

According to police, they received a complaint from Pradeep Kumar from the child helpline of the District Child Protection Unit in Faridabad reporting that a teenage girl had undergone an abortion after she was raped.

Kumar, in his complaint, said that he had received a call from two NGOs — Shakti Vahini and Nosrishti Sanstha — on Tuesday regarding the incident.

Upon receiving information, Kumar met the victim who told him that she begged on the roadside to feed her alcoholic father and her younger brother. Around three months ago, she was looking for her younger brother, when one of the accused, an auto-rickshaw driver who often gave her food, asked her to sit in his vehicle and promised to help her find her brother, police said.

“The victim revealed that he took her to his room where he and his aide raped her multiple times. They threatened to kill her if she anyone about it,” Kumar told the police.

The rape survivor’s neighbour had also raped her multiple times after offering her food and tea. On January 6, a woman came to the girl’s house and told her that one of the accused had called her, Kumar said.

The woman offered the survivor some food after which she fell unconscious. When she woke up after a few hours, the accused gave her a papaya, a shawl and a jacket, Kumar said in his complaint.

Kumar told the police that the woman and the auto-driver called the survivor home and forced her to undergo an abortion. Following this, her condition deteriorated and the matter reached the Child Helpline through an NGO.

Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The three accused were arrested and further investigation is underway, police added.

The cops at the girl’s Faridabad home

New Delhi:

A woman had buried her daughter 10 months ago in the Faridabad house they were living in. A complaint from the father, living in Saudi Arabia, led the cops to their home and a search followed, leading to an exhumation. The recovered body has been sent for postmortem.

Parveena was 17 years old. Her mother, Anitha Begum, has been taken into police custody.

The cops say that the father, Tahir, emailed them about her missing daughter. Asked how it took him that many months to complain, the cops said the man was not on good terms with his wife.

Anitha begum denies that she killed her daughter, telling cops that the girl died by suicide. She, however, admitted to the cops that she buried her in the house. The woman said she feared that the news of her suicide will bring a bad name to the family and buried her with help from two people.

“I did not kill her. She had affairs and used to run away. We had locked her up. And we slept. She died by suicide. Fearing a bad name, we buried her in the house. It was a big mistake, I admit it,” said Anita Begum.

The cops say further investigation will begin once the postmortem results are in.

Further investigation is underway, say Cops (Representational)

Faridabad:

The police have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping and killing a 13-year-old boy here in a bid to demand ransom from the parents and repay his debt, officials said on Saturday. The police identified the accused as Vishal, a medical store operator and a resident of the housing board colony, sector 62 Ballabgarh, they said.

During the investigation, the police found that Vishal killed Kush, a student of class eight, by overdosing him with an intoxicant which he gave to render him unconscious, officials said.

He then dumped Kush’s body near the Agra canal, which the police recovered on Friday, they said. According to police, Umesh Chand, Kush’s father, filed a complaint reporting that his son had been missing since Thursday evening. He told the police that Kush had gone on his bicycle around 6.30 pm to bring some ice from a neighbouring shop.

However, when Kush did not return, Chand, with some locals, began searching for him but could not trace him. They then examined the CCTV footage and found that Kush had passed Vishal’s home some time ago, Chand said.

They searched Vishal’s residence and found Kush’s bicycle on his terrace. Following this, they handed over Vishal to the police, Chand added. During interrogation, Vishal confessed that he had kidnapped Kush to demand ransom from his parents and repay his debt. He injected Kush with an intoxicant but he died due to overdose, a senior police officer said.

Vishal told the police that he could not ask for ransom as Kush had died. So he dumped his body near the canal, the officer said.

The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, he added.

Two accused have been arrested and the kidnapped bank manager safely rescued

New Delhi:

A bank manager, who was kidnapped at gunpoint Saturday from his Faridabad home to Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur and then Mathura, has been rescued, thanks to swift action by Haryana police’s crime branch. The investigation has revealed a chilling plan under which the kidnappers tied Satish up and drove with him for 800 km, first to Bilaspur and then Mathura. The plot was allegedly hatched by Satish’s former tenant Bhupendra. The prime accused and his wife, who allegedly helped him, have been arrested and cops are now looking for another accused.

According to senior police officer Aman Yadav, Satish works as a bank manager in Delhi and is a resident of Sector 62 in Faridabad. His wife is a government employee. Bhupendra, who lived as a tenant in Satish’s house till four months back, was out of work. He knew Satish’s family was well-off and planned to kidnap him and demand ransom, said the police officer.

The plan was hatched by Bhupendra, his wife and Ravindra, his former colleague at a petrol pump, said police. Bhupendra and Ravindra recced the area near Satish’s house for two-three days before the kidnapping. Having lived there, Bhupendra knew that the main door is not locked, even at night.

Late on Saturday night, he entered the house. Satish was with his wife and a friend. Bhupendra pointed a gun at them. When Satish’s friend Amit tried to intervene, he hit him with a hammer, police said. Bhupendra took away the phones of Satish’s wife and Amit. He also took Satish’s car keys and wallet. On gunpoint, Satish was asked to get into his car and drive to Rohini. At Rohini, Ravindra joined Bhupendra. Satish’s car was left there and the accused put him into a cab. His hands and feet were tied, mouth gagged and the rear seat partition used to hide him. The kidnappers refuelled the cab using Satish’s credit card. The next stop was Himachal. Bhupendra’s wife sat in the front to suggest that a family was in the car, police said.

Once in Himachal, the kidnappers made the ransom call and demanded Rs 50 lakh from Satish’s family. By now, police had been informed and six teams had been formed to track down the kidnappers and rescue Satish. Officers of the crime branch were present during the telephonic negotiations. When the family said they cannot pay Rs 50 lakh, Bhupendra settled for 5 lakh. He asked them to transfer the amount to Satish’s bank account. The family said they did not have the amount in their bank accounts, but can arrange cash. Bhupendra asked them to transfer 1 lakh to the account and arrange for the rest in cash.

Yesterday, Bhupendra reached Keli bypass to collect the cash from Satish’s wife. Once she handed over the money, he got into the cab in which he had come. The crime branch team was waiting and he was arrested. On questioning, he revealed that Satish had been shifted to Mathura and Ravindra was with him. Once he found out that Bhupendra had been arrested, Ravindra fled the Mathura hideout and police rescued Satish. He had been hit on the face with the pistol.

Bhupendra has told police that he had no work for months now and needed money, and that led him to commit the crime. Police have recovered the cash Satish wife had handed over to Bhupendra, a pistol, a countrymade gun, bullets, and the car used in the crime. The search is on for co-accused Ravindra, who is on the run.
