Indore:

The Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh on Friday received a hoax bomb threat after which the case has been registered against unidentified persons in this connection, officials said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Alok Kumar Sharma said that an unidentified person sent an email that threatened a bomb blast on its premises.

“Airport Authorities received an email that some people are going to plant a bomb at the airport. Airport authorities made all the security arrangements and a drill was also carried out. Local police and the CISF were also involved in the drill,” ADCP Sharma said.

He further said that following the investigation by the police and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the threat turned out to be a hoax.

A private school had received an e-mail of a bomb threat. (Representational)

Lucknow:

The bomb threat mails sent to schools in Lucknow on May 13, were the handiwork of a group of minor school children who ‘accidentally’ forwarded the mails during a chatting session, officials said.

The Lucknow police and the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) wings of the Uttar Pradesh Police have worked out the case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone), Tej Swaroop Singh, said, “Chatting during an online gaming session by a group of children aged between 10-11 years went awry when a message of a bomb attack was wrongly forwarded to a private school’s email ID in Lucknow.”

He said, “Interestingly, the children were all from different states, including Maharashtra, and are not interlinked to each other. The children are innocent and their identity is being kept secret. These children are not related to the similar bomb threats received at Kanpur and Delhi schools.”

A private school had received an e-mail of a bomb threat.

Gauging the seriousness of the matter, an FIR under the relevant section was registered after a complaint by the school’s principal.

The DCP also said that to work out the case, a team of surveillance, and Sushant Golf City police was formed.

“During the probe, it was found that the children were chatting on a gaming app ‘Discord’ where they wrongly sent the bomb attack mail to the Lucknow school,” the DCP added.

The children told police that they got the school ID from a pamphlet.

The DCP also said that the case has not been closed yet, as the police are still probing it from other angles.

The drills come days after nearly 200 schools received hoax bomb threats.

New Delhi:

The Delhi Police along with the National Security Guard (NSG) conducted security mock drills at the IGI airport, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station and DPS RK Puram here late Friday and early Saturday.

The drills come days after nearly 200 schools received hoax bomb threats.

The drill was conducted at IGI airport at Friday 10 pm by the NSG commandoes and Delhi Police.

As part of the drill, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which looks after the security of airport, was alerted about a mock terror attack.

Other agencies like fire department and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) also joined the drill, which went on for at least half an hour, an officer said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) told the media “no need to panic. It is a terror attack mock drill exercise which is being conducted in a coordinated manner with other agencies.” A similar exercise were conducted at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station at 1 am and Hyderbad House at 1.30 am and at Delhi Public School in RK Puram at 3 am.

At the school, the security personnel checked their preparedness against a terror attack or a bomb plant.

Earlier on Friday, mock drills were conducted at Taj Palace Hotel, Yasho Bhoomi in Dwarka, Kashmere Gate Metro Station and the New Parliament building in central Delhi.

An officer said though all bomb threats turned out to be hoax on Wednesday, they could not afford to take any chance, hence the mock drills.

New Delhi:

Over 50 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region have sent students home early today after receiving a bomb threat over email. Some other schools, which did not receive a threat mail have also decided to shut early as a precautionary measure.

The schools started receiving the threat emails as early as 4 am today. The bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad, and officials of Delhi Fire Service have been rushed to the schools.

Several other schools have also requested parents to come and pick up students early as a precautionary measure.

“The school has received no threat but as a matter of caution, we are sending students of pre-primary at 10.40 am and primary and senior school at 12 noon. Kindly be at the bus stop accordingly,” Father Agnel School informed parents in a message.

Mother Mary School at Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School at Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School at Vasant Kunj, and Amity School in Saket were among the first ones to receive the threat. Since then, over 60 more schools have received a similar mail and it is suspected that one person was behind it all.

Security agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, are trying to find the source of the email.

“The emails lack a date line but include ‘bcc’, indicating they’ve been sent to multiple recipients. This is a mischief, a mail has been sent to all the schools on such a large scale to spread panic. The cyber cell unit is also trying to trace the email and IP address,” police said.

The search teams on the ground have not found anything suspicious at any of the schools yet. Police have urged parents to not panic, as all appropriate measures are being taken.

“I request parents not to panic, as nothing suspicious has been found yet,” Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa told NDTV.

The Bengaluru City Crime Branch police have registered the case.

Bengaluru:

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with many other cabinet ministers received a threat e-mail on Tuesday.

The threat was specifically sent to prominent figures including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and the state Home Minister G Parameshwara.

The email was sent by a person using the email address Shahidkhan10786@protonmail.com.

“What are your thoughts on the movie trailer? If you don’t provide us with 2.5 million dollars, we will cause large explosions on buses, trains, temples, hotels and public areas throughout Karnataka,” the mail read.

“We want to show you one more trailer. We are going to explode the next one in the Ambari Utsav bus. After the Ambari Utsav bus blast, we will raise our demands on social media. And will upload screenshots of the mail sent to you on social media. We will tweet information about the next explosion,” it stated.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru City Crime Branch police have registered the case.

Earlier, the Karnataka Police arrested one person named Mohammed Rasool Kaddare for posting a video on social media in which he threatened to kill PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The arrest was made after an FIR was registered in Surpur police station in Karnataka’s Yadgiri.

The accused was booked under sections 505(1)(b), 25(1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act at Yadgiri’s Surpur police station.

“Rasool, who made a selfie video on his mobile phone, abused Prime Minister Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath with unintelligible words,” the police said.

Speaking on the incident, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and senior advocate Nalin Kohli said that such elements have suddenly started coming up in Karnataka who want to say “Pakistan Zindabad”, who issue life threats to PM Modi and who are planting bombs in a restaurant.

“This shows that such elements have suddenly started coming up in Karnataka who want to say “Pakistan Zindabad”, who issue life threats to PM Modi and who are planting bombs in a restaurant. Karnataka Police and other agencies are indeed working but what is the mindset behind all of this?” Nalin Kohli said.
