Bluevine, a US-based digital business banking platform focused on small businesses, is increasingly eyeing at a growing number of Indian firms seeking to set up establishments in the US as pat of their expansion strategy.

“The owners, operators and entrepreneurs who generate revenue in the US, if they have a US entity, by definition, need to open a US bank account, which represents an opportunity for us”, said Aditya Narula, General Manager; India and General Manager of Global Lending & Credit, Bluevine, whose support team is based in Bengaluru.

Terming India as its top three international markets, Bluevine  said it expects international markets to contribute 20% of its overall revenue over the next two to three years.

“We are investing significantly in India and building a lot specifically for Indian customers”, Mr Narula said..

Bluevine’s India said it is expanding its reach through strengthening partnerships with venture capital firms, accelerators, and advisory firms to help Indian entities establish their presence in the U.S. It is initially targeting VC-backed startups and IT and IT-enabled services companies, while keeping options open on businesses across verticals.

Eligible customers can earn up to 3% interest on business account balances, while businesses with surplus funds can invest in US, Treasuries through the platform for potentially higher returns, he said., adding the company also plans to introduce credit cards and lending products for Indian founders over the next six to twelve months.
